It’s 3:40 in the morning. Can’t sleep. Enjoyed watching the game last night muted so as not to listen to the ESPN carp, especially the PCA on field interview. The booger comment is spot on and actually made me laugh out loud.

I would also like to be a charter club member. Perhaps treasurer!

PCA has yet to have an MLB season with an on base % over .300, and he can’t hit LH pitching at all, but MLB is desperate for young star players with any hint of a personality, so he’s been over-hyped.

He's got a k/w ratio in excess of 5/1. But in his last 284 PAs, it's higher than 6/1 as he sports a .238/.276/.487/.762 hitting line. There's really no reason to throw him strikes. A bit like Javier Baez and Tony Armas, if you like those kind of players.

PCA has slumped badly this month. He has only 3 hits in August,1 extra base hit, and no RBI. His slash line is .091/.118/.121/.239 for the month. His average vs LHP has not been good all season - .193/.222/.414/.636.
I cannot blame Counsell for pinch hitting with Turner in that situation.

Also notice Council did not challenge the pickoff play. It was very close. PCA was not happy in that event.

No oli picks and chooses...he also has no issues throwing guys under the bus...

The Marmot is insecure which compels him to throw specific players under the bus.
Counsell has no such weakness.
Whereas The Marmot is a complete paint-by-numbers manager, Counsell is willing to make decisions he believes will help win games.
Such as hitting Turner for C-A.
There was no "message sent" to anyone.
It was simply a decision in the moment.
