I've been saying repeatedly that ownership allowed their brand to die. This is more clear evidence of that.
They got a lot of help from the worst MVP-duo ever of Goldy/Nado and what's likely a laughable "ace" signing in Gray.
If those 3 performed like they're getting paid to in 24 and 25 things could have been a lot different.
Didn't help that "everyone's buddy" Oli seems to extract about 50% or less from each of his players.

The Cardinals have lost their national brand. Viewership (both in seats and through media channels) is way down. Players no longer view St. Louis as a place they want to play.
It stinks, and that's on ownership.

Heavily influenced by current results I'm sure. Funny to see Shildt and Marmol on the (bleep) list - two Cardinal guys. Both are known for being fundamental managers so perhaps the focus on "playing the right way" isn't loved. Also neither guy has MLB playing experience so maybe that's a demerit too

Gotta think the lack of playing experience counts for something with players. If you've done it before they're probably more likely to listen. Players don't always make great coaches, but they do inherently command a certain degree of respect.
