Winn’s knee had injection etc. So while his offense was struggling, he gave it his best. It ‘s up to Oli to sit a guy but I won’t fault Nado for playing banged up. He is a competitor and being paid well .

When you’re OPSing .440 for the month and playing hurt it doesn’t make you “strong” it makes you “selfish”.

+1 a good teammate would realize he’s hurting more than helping and suck up his ego and go on IL

Yep and the front office should have stepped in and just done it, but they were probably wanting to get rid of him so they didn’t want to put him on the IL.

As I've said many times, if you're playing through injury because you're a "gamer" but you know your diminished capacity is less than what a replacement can do, you're not a "gamer" who'll do "anything for the team." You're a self-righteous (buzz) who cares more about himself than the team.

I was as excited as anybody when Arenado came to the Cardinals.

But he isn’t or at least hasn’t been the player I expected.

To be fair to NA, I did say that my take was 100% opinion without proof.

The opinion came from his age 29 season being his worst in CO. with an OPS of .738
after he asked for a trade. A distraction to just playing ball. His 2023 age 32 season which
was still good decreased but still good OPS of .774. A season after the leaders of AP and YM left
he requested more leadership on the team. 2024 No significant player brought in
further regression. All can be aged related so bias opinion on my part. Just age 29 and age 32 seem
drastic in there drops. Add the sss of 35 PA in the post season with an OPS of .385.
It is a sss.

I can be incredibly wrong on that. What I don't feel wrong on is him being a great player
a competitor. I believe him when he says wants to win and play for a championship.
That distracts from just playing ball when attempting to be in a leadership role, that doesn't
make him bad it's just not who he is as a player, or changing teams and wanting to go
to a better situation.

Meh, he played hurt while also being in decline, which means he hurt his team’s chance at winning. Pride in playing hurt is not a positive attribute when you’re already in decline. Let better players play and don’t be selfish. Just my two cents.
