Not as long as the Dimwitts are still the ones in charge

No.

Why is Nootbaar still here? Why is Gorman still here? Why is Romero still here? Why did we ONLY trade three pretty important pieces of our bullpen and get back mostly lotto tickets? Or dudes with "good peripherals" but who absolutely suck when it comes to the bottom line? Why didn't we address the redundancies that clog this roster up?

I expected no blockbusters. I'm not shocked that we got zero major league talent for TODAY. But crikey, I didn't expect to have to squint so hard to see MLB potential in 5/6ths of who we traded for in the past 24 hours.

This is another half-a**ed clunker from an overrated clown of a POBO. Like Strum, I wasn't expecting top 5 prospects (unless they moved Donnie), but no reason for guys like Nootbaar, Romero, and Nado to still be here. Donnie would have easily got a top 5 prospect. At this point Nado needs to just be waived, dude is toast.

We didn’t sell all the players we should have so no.

What sense did it make to hold onto Maton, Matz and Helsley?

Say we got nothing back is completely wrong.
Who should we have "sold" that doesn't still have control (or a NTC)?
Should have sold on Romero. I would have also listened to offers on Donovan, Noot, Burleson and others. They will all be gone before DeWitt allows Bloom to build a contender.

Premature speculation.

(There are remedies for that)
They are 40 and at best a 50 grade prospect. That's not speculation. Its just proper interpretation of scouting reports.
Very short sighted view. We received players to add to our prospect pool for players we were going to lose for nothing.

This gives more depth for Bloom to trade from in the offseason to make larger trades.

There is also a chance one or two actually have an impact for us at the major league level.

Please tell me why you were against this? It makes zero sense to hold the players.
Where did I say I'm against it? My question is where does the needed talent Build for 2026 come from? Not these trades today.

Yea for real. I mean we got three players that have already slotted in our top top 20 along with two more that might crack our top 30. These are two months rental relief pitchers . If that brings you back 5 guys that crack your top 30 prospects I don't know how that would be next to nothing.

They are not building for 26. Dewitt is going to allow the team to rot until he pushes for a lockout. Only once the lockout ends and only if he gets what he wants from it will he allow Bloom to start building a winner. They are targeting 27 or 28.

That’s why not doing a bigger selloff made zero sense.

You aren’t going to rebuild the roster by trading rental relievers. The one chance they had to get something significant was Donovan, yet they hold onto him for no apparent reason.

Just a very poorly run club and this is exactly why we are what we are

He failed and made no other moves. This trade deadline he only tried to trade the expiring contracts. He signed only one free agent this offseason for one year.
He did not want to have any effect on next year by adding or subtracting from the roster. It’s Bloom team now going forward. Look for moves this off season as Bloom shapes the roster to his liking.
I hope Bloom is active -- and proactive and doesn't wait to "see what we have." 8)

Arenado is a cancer in this environment. He's not just bad with the bat, he's close to worthless and does not deserve any more PT. He needs to be jettisoned by any means possible.

I’m ok with what they did.
Obviously it would have been nice to move Arenado but we all know the deal there.
Was actually hoping they’d move Noot.

Is anyone ever really happy? What is happiness?

Am I satisfied the team moved in the right direction? Yes. For those wanting MASSIVE change it would be difficult when several of the players that should be moved in a real rebuild have NTC and don't want to go. Like Nado and Gray. heck even Contreras could be moved for rebuild eyeing 2027.

But they did what they HAD to do which was get something back for the 4 FA to be pitchers. And did they get anything of value? NO ONE KNOWS. Lets' see if any of them are producing something for league minimum or a bit more in the next 3 -4 years.

As far as this forum is concerned there will always be haters and whiners. Bloom will be scorned as much as Mo was. I've no idea why they follow the Cardinals.

Selling was the only viable option.

Hopefully the Cardinals scouted well and the prospects they picked up will exceed expectations.

I think it's clear and obvious that any moves made would only be free agents to be. Any cleaning up the roster would be done when Bloom takes full control over the off season. He should get the rest of the year to determine who he thinks fits this team going forward. Trades of Any outfielders or infielders to clear clutter will be his to make and available during the off season. I really don't understand why posters aren't understanding this.

They had to get rid of the main four FAs who had a chance to be traded - Fedde, Matz, Helsely and Maton.
Am I happy with the return? Not at all, but these weren't All-Stars.
Far worse was hanging onto any of them.
Nado and Miles were never going to be traded.

Now CT can turn to hating on Bloom.
Agree.
We’re talking about two month rentals.
Wouldn’t it be priceless if Helsley went to free agency and resigned here???

LOL...uh no!
And while the FO has struggled with acquiring SP’s
they have done fairly well picking up BP arms over the years!
Maton, Romero, Mujica(sp?), Kittredge and there have been others.
Hopefully they do it again this offseason.
Keep playing the younger guys.
More on the way!
