Oh. Well maybe I just won't do that and I'll carry on thinking he sounds promising. Sounds like more fun.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 17:13 pm To spare you all the same poor fate that I suffered...don't go looking at Skylar Hales numbers this year.

Re: Maton to Rangers
Let’s keep it in perspective. Maton is a guy who couldn’t find a job until spring training. He had a good season, but he never profiled as a guy we were going to get a big return for.
The Hale guy sounds like a legit Bullpen candidate next year and a potential future closer.
Doubt the Molina player sees the majors ever for the Cards. Guessing either depth for minors or traded as part of a package down the road.
I would try to sign Maton this off season.
For me the biggest miss was not dealing Romero who would have more value.
Re: Maton to Rangers
I have to ask again if this return is really better than giving a QO and him signing elsewhere.
Truly feels like they moved these guys just to move them.

Re: Maton to Rangers
That is the best news of this trade. Under Mo we have traded away ISM like it was halloween candy. This shows me that we are going to start signing more International Free Agents which we are woefully bad at doing. We only have 1 Herrera on the roster now. That is pathetic. The biggest area of improvement needed in St. Louis. That has Bloom written all over it.

Re: Maton to Rangers
I'm as PO'd about this deadline as anyone, but there's absolutely NO way you QO Maton.
I love Phil. I hate to see him go. I want him to come back. But under no circumstances do I want to pay him 20+ million dollars.

Haha no I know. Just can't believe this is the best we could do for these guys. Really disappointing last couple days.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑31 Jul 2025 17:23 pmI'm as PO'd about this deadline as anyone, but there's absolutely NO way you QO Maton.

This looks like your standard bland Moe the clown 'quantity over quality' special.
