Like this trade. Right hander, has some solid power potential, good average potential and does not strike out a ton. Good risk - needs to get in shape.

Follow Red Sox also and their fans were deriding Bloom for taking and believing in this guy. I could see Bloom trying to acquire him

Im notnsure we will see him this year but he is only 22 years old. He started at AA this year but got promoted to AAA and has ops above .800 at 22 years old at AAA. Probably stays in memphis this year and starts there next and see how he progresses. Plays 1b and 3b. Would be awesome if he could stick at 3b

The Red Sox and Cardinals have agreed to a trade that will send left-hander Steven Matz to Boston, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports. First base prospect Blaze Jordan is headed to the Cards in return, according to the Boston Globe’s Alex Speier. The deal will become official once both sides sign off on the medicals of the players involved.

For a guy named Blaze, there's no indication he runs very fast.
I like this deal MUCH more than the other one!!

He sucks defensively. He’s probably a DH/1B

Yeah Mo says we want low minors guys to keep away from the 40 man traffic, then turn around and trade for a guy that needs to be put on the 40 man?!?!? What is going on here. To be fair though, we are also trading away a player on the 40 man for this guy and he doesnt hVe to be added til offseason. And we just opened another 40 man spot by trading helsley as well. I think mo doesnt want to add 3 40man guys for helsley rather than 3 non 40 man guys but on occasion a 1 for 1 on 40 is okay
