Gray already said multiple times he will veto any trade with NTC
That's not what he said when asked recently
He said he would prefer to stay in St. Louis at least through the season.
That was per John Denton who's reporting I trust about as far as I could throw him He also said - "the right-hander again conveyed that he prefers to stay in St. Louis — at least for the remainder of the current season. Barring a late change of heart, it seems Gray will remain with the Cardinals for the balance of the regular season."

When Derrick Goold asked him - "The 35-year-old Gray declined to elaborate beyond the mere fact that he and Mozeliak had recently talked about the matter."

Katie Woo reported this weekend that the Cardinals would “entertain” offers on Gray and that Mozeliak had gauged interest from some clubs.

Gray wants to be close to Nashville. Cincinnati is slightly closer to Nashville than St. Louis is...
Cinn is a worse team than the Cardinals and any trade would require taking on his $35m salary next season. Gray wanting to go to a lesser contender and Cincinnati wanting to add that payroll seems unlikely at best. That would leave the Cardinals with Libertore McGreevy and Pallante as their only SP for next season. Get ready for 70 wins.
Cinn is worse than Stl?
Standings change daily and are close-ish to even. Meanwhile We've beaten them 4 out of 7 head to head. So yeah.
Glad Gray has you to speak for him. Good thing the Cards won that 4th game, because otherwise he might want to go to Cincy...

That’s why Crav said “healthy”. Hunter Greene is out for the Reds, as is Rhett Lowder (who had a 1.17 ERA in his first 6 starts last year, but has been out all year this year).

Greene: 2.72 ERA
Abbott: 2.08 ERA
Lodolo: 3.08 ERA

That’s a great top 3. Put in Burns who has 10+ K’s in 3 straight starts, albeit his ERA is not as special yet (6.26 ERA/3.06 FIP).

Going to a team adding, with direction and Francona managing, Imagine Saurez there,
vs being on a team selling, in rebuild and Oli is manager might be a thought for Gray.
