Re: Do the Cardinals have something special in Burleson?
Given the lousy baseball we’ve seen for three years, Burleson is a bright spot. The focus on what he isn’t misses what he is. A homegrown player that can really hit and is getting better, an adequate+ defender and only 26. I took [shirt] from the self-appointed CT guardians of truth when I said it last year, Burley will win a batting championship. The dude is a hitter.

"Love. Exciting and new. Come aboard, we're expecting you."
When did the Love Boat get an inflatable cruise??

He's a solid player. I'm glad he's on the Cardinals. We don't need 50 threads about him though. But that's on the moderators. Still not sure what they're moderating if they're not blocking trolls and serial posting.

He’s nothing like Schwarber.RamFan08NY wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 20:53 pmMy point was, how many platoon players (as you called him) hits for 20 / 80? Thats a pretty good season for an every day player.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 19:57 pmSorry my idea of a special player is more than a 20 hr 80 rbi platoon guy lol. A good player yes but special? Far from it he doesn’t have anywhere close to the power or walk percentage of schwarberRamFan08NY wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 19:55 pm20/80 would in fact be a pretty hood platoon guy. Who knows, maybe he turns in to a Schwarber type player.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑28 Jul 2025 19:48 pm Well if you have low definition of special and consider special a 20 home run 70-80 RBI platoon guy then yes I guess
Also, there are many good left handed bats who struggle against LHP but put up overall good numbers.

A refreshing post that recognizes the positive. I like it.OregonRedbird wrote: ↑29 Jul 2025 00:15 am Given the lousy baseball we’ve seen for three years, Burleson is a bright spot. Daily affirmation is nice, eh Shady?

The poster made some good points. But you are likely too myopic to see how good it is to have the kind of player Burleson has developed into. You are just another CT Negative Nellie. Cheers !

Negative attention seems to be better than no attention at all.
