It seems prudent to get Wetherholt some MLB experience at some point this season. To acclimate him to the MLB scene and give him something to build on in the off season to prepare for '26.

Which is why you call him up around September 1st and maintain his rookie eligibility.

I agree, but it’s larger than that. Baseball decisions should be made in order to win. But everything they seem to do — messaging, game experience, even not wearing the blue caps on the road — is out of touch with what their customers want. In some ways it almost feels intentional.
