My work is only half complete…..Miles next
Re: Fedde DFAd
That’s a crock.
After the year he had and his salary I guarantee some teams asked about him.
But our POBO is far too smart to let him go for less than he thought Fedde was worth.
Which turns out to be nothing.

Quality asset management yet again. We weren't going to get a haul for him in the off-season, but we absolutely could've gotten something decent. Maybe 2 players from a team's internal top 20.

Re: Fedde DFAd
There would have been interest with his relative modest salary and the year he had. Now teams wpuldnt have given a total haul because it could have been a fluke vs rest of his career. If he performed the same this year there could ha e been a bigger haul at the deadline as he would now have more solid history as #2 and last year not being a fluke. That is what mozeliak gambled on. He lost the gamble.

You just love to support this FO.
Nope, I just ask what would they have gotten and who takes their place/innings. I think about more than just getting a rid of a player and how it affects the lineup, starting pitching , minors, etc...

I remember well how many here were thrilled to trade Tommy for Fedde.
Now everyone is excited to be rid of him.

Re: Fedde DFAd
It's a no-trade clause, not a no DFA clause.

You really are an (donkey)(pit), I guess you are proud of that...but there I go feeding the troll. You are completely right we could have not gotten a thing for Fedde off season. Now here is your Alpo Scouty slurp it up, dig in face first don't worry about it getting all over your face.

You continually tell everyone how worthless most of the Cardinals players are and how poor Oli is stuck with a crummy roster.
One guy has been in charge of the roster for the past 18 years, yet you never seem to take him to task for that crummy roster.

He might waive that if he is told he will henceforth be a mop up man in the pen. Do it.

Unless Mo has the goods on BDW, he needs to be DFA as well.
It's a reset with a goal of checking what our younger players bring, yet we are going to keep one of our most tradeable, expiring contracts at his highest value and block McGreevy?
He literally stumbled into the worst possible outcome on Fedde. This is not something a competent GM does.

And while I'm glad to be done with him, it was still a good trade...at the time it was made. Tommy was getting expensive relative to his production, and hadn't set foot in a major league stadium at all last season.
I won't fault Mozo for making that trade. But I will absolutely fault him for running with failure for way too long.
