I would agree that the rotation/staff figures to undergo the biggest change between now and the start of 2026.
Having said that there are so many different options/directions to take it’s almost impossible to predict:
Likely gone?- Miles, Matz, Fedde
Maybe?- Helsley and Maton
Likely back- Gray
Not a prediction but just consider the BP:
Helsley resigned?
If he leaves I could certainly see Maton being extended as a more economical closer option.
Let the dominos fall!

This is like having a large bandaid on. You can try to pry it off slowly and extend the amount of time it hurts. Or you can rip it off increasing the pain but reducing the time it hurts.
STL can either straddle the road and reduce the pain keeping players so this year only sucks a little bit but next year and the year after also suck. With no end in sight to the suckage.
Or, they can go all in on a rebuild and totally suck the rest of this year with potential to end the suckage by 2027 with an exciting new roster and hope.
Me I'm a rip the bandaid off guy. Let this year totally suck. Pump that farm full of potential and reduce the salary on the books. Invest in development and scouting. Truly make this a year of trial by fire for the kids and next year start signing smarter FAs to the roster.
So prepare to deal anyone on the roster not expected to be part of the 2028 roster going forward. That includes Donovan, Nado, Helsley, Maton, etc.
It’s freaking hilarious you think you could pump the organization with prospects by trading these guys. If they were good enough to net prospects, they wouldn’t be in this situation in the first place. The guys we have are EXACTLY the kind of guys you muddle through with. You might get some value from Helsley, Maton and Matz, but that’s it.

Could the Cardinals survive the season if they traded Gray, Mikolas, Matz, Fedde, Helsley, and Maton?
Would anyone attend the games other than the families of the Memphis pitchers called up?
Opti
I don't see Gray or Mikolas waiving their NTC's but hope I'm wrong, especially w/Mikolas who needs to be DFA'd if some team actually wanted him and he refused to waive.
The others should 100% be dealt even though I'd like to keep Maton w/a reasonable extension ($8M/2yrs) to close in 2026.

It's hilarious you don't understand what I post. Yestrading Matz, Helsley, Maton and Donovan WILL pump the farm full. But laugh. Lucky for us you aren't running the team.
