The past two games both pitchers have been throwing meatballs right down the middle of the plate. Is something rotten in Denmar- er St Louis? I've never seen this many pitches right over the heart of the plate, especially two games in a row. Now they can be sellers at the deadline without anyone questioning their motives.
You'll probably never be taken seriously again

No player is going to tank and cost themselves money by making themselves look bad just so the owners can sell that’s tin foil hat crazy
Nothing like that has ever happened in sports.

BTW, Sonny already has his contract guaranteed. You're probably right though. Just a couple of bad games. Right?
I understand your point, and I’m not entirely sure you’re wrong. But it looks more like pitch tipping (again) or sign stealing to me.
Are we really sure Pitch Comm is as secure they tell us?

lol he’s wrong obviously fedde and MM are free agents at the end of the year they and zero chance cards sign them so
Zero chance they would tank for the cardinals and end up costing themselves millions in free agency. You think fedde is going to pitch himself into having to go back to Japan because no one wants him or MM risks being stuck with nothing more than a minor league contract just so the cardinals could sell? lol that’s insane

Geez, these guys are proud. No way Sonny is deliberately throwing meatballs up there. Unfortunately, Libby is also on a negative roll lately. The rest of the starting staff is not very good. Decent game now and then, but meh at best. Marmol doesn't need to leave guys out to get shelled. Whatever. No way SG is deliberately throwing junk though. He is just in a funk... along with the rest of the staff. Clearly the pitching coach can't do much to help any of them get back on track. He is pretty useless. Duncan used to take also ran pitchers and help them. Different times. I hope Bloom cleans house at the end of the year. I think Jay has done a decent job with the OFer's defense. I think Brown isn't bad. Marmol and Blake need to be gone... along with a lot of the roster. Let the re-tool begin. Hopefully they can unload Helsley for some return by the deadline. Maybe Matz. Not sure they have anyone else who would be in demand (not that we want to trade).

No, they are just a mediocre team in rebuild mode.

Lack of talent for some for Sonny my guess is he’s a creature of habit they always talk about he is a routine oriented guy and any disruption of it can cause problems and the all star break is a major disruption of routine. And players aren’t going to tank and cost themselves money for ownership fedde and MM are free agents you really think they would tank for ownership and cost themselves millions in free agency for a team that isn’t even going to resign them lol not a chance
No, I believe Fedde and Mikolas are really trying. I just believe they suck. My entire point was that the last two games it seems our pitchers are throwing the ball right down the middle of the plate. I really don't think they were told to throw it down the middle after thinking about it, but something certainly is going on. Too many pitches in the middle of the plate especially for Gray. Let's just say it couldn't have been any worse if they had been told to throw it down the middle and leave it at that. To say the ownership is ambivalent about winning is obvious right now. They threw in the towel before the season ever started and if that isn't basically telling to team to lose then what is it?

This thread is what happens when conspiracy theorists and sports collide.

Life is all about streaks and stretches. When you’re hot, you’re hot. Thanks very true. And when you’re not, you’re not. Don’t we know.
I liken it to chasing women. There were times you could just be there, and get laid. Others, you couldn’t even get a hello. Many more of those stretches.
Same premise.

Good grief, I know you're frustrated but be serious.
Count how many balls have gone right down the heart of the plate. Maybe I'm blind but it sure looks like intentional.
Ehhh, it's apparently a fervent American tradition to believe in conspiracies instead of things like other teams have talent.

Bingo. The talent level difference from olayer to player team to team times thirty, gives a delta of about zero meters difference.
So the difference is- managing, and how the little white ball decides to play it.

All teams will beat your brains out if you throw the ball down the middle. As for conspiracies, well, some are real and most are not. They aren't inherently American.

I doubt they were "told" to throw it down the middle. I probably put a little too much hyperbole in my quote and of course took the flak for it. Is it a conspiracy to say ownership made the decision to lose? They're sure loving them high draft picks. What do you call it when an organization agrees to lose yet puts out the quote "reset" in response to being called out for losing on purpose?

This team:
- Lost 6 of 7 from March 31 to April 7
- Lost 5 in a row from April 17 to April 21
- Lost 6 in a row from June 8 to June 13
- Lost 4 in a row from June 30 to July 4
I'm certain they are capable of losing two in a row so far after the A-S break without it having been ordered.

Yes Moran...
Insightful and thoughtful. Just what you're known for around here.
In this case he is right. There is no way they told the pitchers to give up runs. No way no how. This conspiracy is right up with the flat earth.
