One thing I would do is after the world series, get on the phone with Baltimore. Find out what it would take to get their first round pick this year Ike Irish. If we could trade say a Gorman, Nootbar and Hence for Irish I would do that all day long. They would get 2 MLB ready players needing a change of scenery and a prospect pitcher, all on the cheap. I think Ike will be a special bat in a couple of years. He would be a good add along with Wetherholt. If we could somehow wind up with a top 5 pick again next year and get another thumper bat we could have a pretty good young team in 2 to 3 years. We can get guys to fill Nootbars role all day long in the off season. He just does not add much at this point and neither does Gorman. Both have potential however and are young. This is what Baltimore can work on. There is no doubt however the team needs to clean out the dead weight in the minors and bring in some guys that can do some damage.

Burleson has 30 HR, 30 doubles potential. Maybe he could be the cleanup answer next season.

Burly has, at least, 25 HR, 25 doubles a season potential. Anybody disagree? He's only 26. He should be coming into his prime. I'm sure some of you, like me, are looking to see how he closes out the season.

Of course that is true.
But seeing as how more than 20 other teams need the same thumper how do you propose we do that??
Sign Eugenio Suarez to a short term deal this offseason after moving Nado. Then sign a top of the rotation arm (Valdez??).

Donovan 7
Wetherholt 4
Suarez 5
Contreras 3
Burleson 9
Hererra DH
Winn 6
Crooks 2
Scott II 8

Did you forget to log in with another username when answering yourself? This is why I don’t care about bumping your threads, you’re gonna do it anyway. And yes we all disagree, Burleson sucks as a 3 or 4 hitter.

To take the optimistic projection, maybe Wetherholt and Baez combine to bring up the Cards overall power base to decent levels.

I don't need any advice from a Dingaling like you. You are another one of the many weak-minded that are obsessed.

don't think prospects can be traded for 1yr of being drafted

Turns out Contreras is still a "big thumper" who can hit "tough RHP"

A "big thumper" hits a lot of home runs. Suarez is an example of a "big thumper".

This.
Acquiring a power hitting prospect that doesn’t hit his prime until 2029 would be nice as a future move but it doesn’t help our 2026/27 roster like a Suarez does.

Do both if you can but fix 2026 first.

Burly not a thumper, he is a flailer. Poor pitch recognition.

To me the thumper we need to go after is in AAA for the Yankees Spencer Jones. He is basically a clone of Aaron Judge and has nothing left to prove in the minors. We could play him from day 1. I just posted a thread with a proposed trade of

Cards get Jones and Beeter

Yanks get Arenado +15/20 million

Helsley and Matz

Don’t know if that is a fair trade both ways but would throw in an OF instead of Matz if necessary

You are in Zoolooland if you can't comprehend Burleson's outstanding bat-to-ball skills. Check the stats, chump. Burleson is making Zooloos like you and craviduce look foolish in your denial again this season.
