A trip to the IL sounds about right after what we have witnessed the last 3 Fedde starts.

I really believe Oli was sending a message to Mo on Friday by leaving Mikolas in as ball after ball left Wrigley. It seemed as if he was saying "get us some real pitching".
Anyone with a brain knew Fedde should've been traded last winter. Even if it was for lower prospect(s). But Mo in his typical way did a half-[ashed] job with the rebuild. He sat around all winter and did nothing except let Goldschmidt, Kittredge, and Gibson walk. That took no effort. He orchestrated an Arenado trade to a team he didn't want to go to. Good grief, Mo is an incompetent clown.
I thought the same thing about Helsley. Now he will walk after the season with no return.82birds wrote: ↑06 Jul 2025 22:19 pmagree to all ^JuanAgosto wrote: ↑06 Jul 2025 20:40 pm It seems if Oli and Dusty had their way, Fedde would be out of the rotation. and add Helsley as a guy that should have been traded over the winter
I completely agree. The thing is, Fedde's contract is cheaper to eat. Whatever trade value Fedde had earlier in the year must be zero now, unless some team sees a glitch they can fix. Given the Cards recent batting downturn, pitching isn't the only issue. But, Fedde and Mikolas are insurmountable issues...Strummer Jones wrote: ↑07 Jul 2025 00:05 am Mikolas SHOULD be the one out.
Fedde's been hot garbage the past month, but I'm willing to say that he could be fixed if he worked at it. Mikolas is a lost cause. Mikolas has been a lost cause for close to three seasons now. Mikolas will continue to be a lost cause. And he's also dumber than a sack of hammers but is convinced that he's not.
Also lost in this shuffle is this--King needs to GO. Talk about a gas can. Problem is that there's not one lefty reliever in Memphis to replace him. I guess we could think about Mathews getting exposed to the bigs in the bullpen, but I definitely hate that idea. Maybe some of the new braintrust can serve up a decent waiver claim or something. But King needs to be gone.
