at least he'll know the team has no respect for him or his ability as a starting pitcher anymore

Please tell us how you know this. Then tell us what the team was thinking when MM ran off six starts and 1.34 ERA from Apr 23 to Mar 23.

Mikolas 2025 is pretty much the same pitcher as the 24 and 23 models, once you adjust for age. His terrible outing today doesn't change that. I can understand if the club wants to IL him or move him to the pen but talk about DFA or slotting him as 13th pitcher is way premature.

It appears that the Cards are stuck with Mikolas and Fedde for the rest of 2025. Not just because they are not valued by a contender. But because, other than McGreevy, Memphis doesn't have any starters that are MLB-ready and can handle the innings that Mikolas and Fedde would take. Those two are at least durable innings eaters, even if they do it at a 4-5 ERA pace.

My money is still on Fedde being traded.

So 11-3 is acceptable because Mikolas went 6? With that type of brain trust no wonder they went scoreless in Pitt.

In the long game, this season is irrelevant. The Cardinals are doing their best with their current roster, but had no plans for the postseason. Mikolas stays, eats some more innings. If he can be traded (unlikely), that's OK too.

This is why there are more empty seats at Busch than filled ones. The Cardinals brain trust has gone crazy. The fans see it and want no part of it.

An interesting statistic would be the number of sold seats which are unused, in every game.

+1

Mo won't have the guts to DFA him, showing once again why he's become one of the worst POBO in MLB.

The Cardinals have paid Mikolas $113M, they owe him nothing other than the rest of 2025 salary.

He's been a disaster for over two and half seasons, DFA is the only logical move if Mo cares anything about 2025.

Yet he is sixth all time in Cardinal history with BB per 9 at 1.6.

So technically all the damage done to him is by hitting.
