Easy to be so pessimistic after the last series. I'm actually willing to give them a shot as they have been punched in the chin all season and have bounced back. So we'll see. Actually, I feel this is one the few Shady posts that is relevant.

The last Cub series several posters were 'hoping ' that somehow the Cardinals could muster a win vs. Cubs. The Cardinals offense had been a bit sluggish entering that series. Then they hit 7 HR's in those first two games . You just never know in baseball . You can go from not getting any runs to getting them in bunches.
Balls need to find the holes in the infield and liners get to the gaps in the outfield.

The one thing I know for sure:
If the Cards don't score any runs in Chicago they won't win any games in Chicago.
I am hopeful that they got all that nothing out of their systems in Pittsburgh.

We get this day off to worry and imagine.

That would require forethought by manager.

He could have pitched Gray twice against Cubs and passed on both occasions.

It's almost like they are setting themselves up to lose.
