You're not sure why it took so long to play a player every day who is hitting .222/.302/.430/.732 in 1,344 PAs???? How many pianos fall on your head daily? Or are you just desperate for attention? I suppose both could be true.

Cusecards wrote: 29 Jun 2025 15:25 pm Gorman will always have a legit ceiling due to his raw power.
When he shows plate discipline and makes the pitcher throw him strikes he can be lethal.
The ball jumps off his bat and he has power to all fields.
This past week or so the plate discipline has been there.
I know it’s easier said than done......but if he went the other way more instead of trying to pull everything he could do a lot of damage.
I agree with this. Compared to Walker, Gorman has a sweet swing and the ball flies off his bat. When he recognizes pitches and doesn't swing at stuff out of the zone, he is a very good hitter. When he does, well, he is going to strike out. For years, people pined for Dan Uggla on this board. Gorman's ceiling is Dan Uggla. I am all for keeping him and trading Walker. At worst, Gorman can platoon and is a huge HR threat when he plays. At best, he can carry the team for stretches like he has the past week or so.

Gorman is proving to be what he's always been....a player who can have short stints where he hits well, but longer stints when he doesn't hit at all. Nothing new here....except he's 25 instead of 21.

Two completely different situations between the two and you have to know that
Yea. One guy is 8-2 with a 3.5 ERA and the OP wants him traded to save money.

One guy is good, and he wants him traded. One guy is on the fence, and he wants him to get more PT.
That is a summary with big holes
That's what she said

The Unicorn.
Never been a LH hitting 2B in MLB history with his HR power ceiling.
Will his reach that ceiling?
Time will tell.

But this is what Gorman does. People keep falling for it. It’s one month.

Fingers crossed that Brown will pay dividends continuing to work with Gorman & Walker.
He seems to be helping other guys?

I understand what you're saying, but why belittle and blame people so much for "falling for it"? It was just 2 years ago in 2023 that Gorman had 27 homers with .805 OPS for the season, so he's got it in him.

Sure, we can't quite trust him to be in the middle of the lineup, but he can at least provide supporting power in lower half of the order if they stick with him. A few times he got out of sync when he had to miss time due to injury.

Well, yeah...except for the fact that he hasn't been playing 2B, especially during this good period. So there's that....

Mostly because of Herrera being out

Regardless of the reason, you can't attribute stats to a player as a 2B when he's been the DH.

Next year's team should have Gorman at 3B, Winn at SS, and Wetherholt at 2B.
