Swinging the bat can’t be a good way for this injury to heal and based on history I’m just guessing he will hit IL at least 10 days.
Nathan Church is on fire this year with a .940 OPS this season between AA and AAA coming into today (hit 2 HRs today so far). He ought to get a chance at some point soon.
That has been my choice.

Yes sort of makes me wonder about the Hampson transaction. Sort of defeats purpose of looking at young guys.
there is no accounting for MO's moves
Very true. Its obvious Mo is still in charge. The reset is being conducted in a nonsensical, half-[ashed] manner. Surely Bloom is having little to no input. But if he is on board with these moves, he may be as bad as Mo.

Mo just seems behind in the times. Last year he brought in Lynn thinking fans here wanted someone from the past to be here. Then this year he brings in Maton who was talked about on CT last offseason. And now he brings in Garret Hampson who was coveted by a poster (I think his name had Wisconsin in it) on CT for a long time years ago. Perhaps Girsch’s new assignment is going over the old posts from CT.

Church is not on the 40 man roster. But, seriously, if they remove Koperniak, who is 27 from the roster, who is going to pick him up. Church is apparently defensively very fast and can play CF. I understand Hampson on the roster because he also backs up SS. But, if Noot goes on the IL, giving Church a shot makes sense. They can always send him back down if they want to bring Walker back up. Walker played for Memphis today and is rehabbing. Letting him rehab for a couple of weeks may not be a bad idea.

If they want to win, giving guys like Church a shot when they are red hot makes all the sense in the world. If they are concerned about 40 man roster issues, they should be losing no sleep over Koperniak...

I get that Hampson isn’t much to get excited about.
But...like Barrero before him he is basically just the 26th man and only an emergency fill in.
The only issue I see with Noot going on the IL would be a backup for CF.
Hampson I guess can fill in for Scott on the rare days he sits(LH starter).
Either guy hits 9th so no biggie there.
Corner OF would be Burleson and Donovan.
Hopefully Walker is back soon? I like to think Saggese can also be a fill in for Corner OF.
They should have been giving him looks there in AAA if he is to be the next Donovan?
Siani can at least give you GG defense in an emergency.
A lot of talk about Church. Is he on the horizon?
IF is pretty much set. Saggese for Gorman vs tough lefties.
I don’t really worry about DH.
Hell...let Pozo DH!!!
Hopefully Herrera back sooner than later???
Hitting .377 with a 1.104 OPS in AAA right now, so he should be.
I get the frustration from those on here.
The dilemma:
They really do need to find out once and for all what is up with Walker and Gorman in 2025.
I’d throw Noot in there as well as to me he is too feast or famine.
Church probably has earned his shot. Saggese also!
But it’s not fair to bring those guys here to mostly sit on the bench.
Ssggese is only up because BOTH Walker and Herrera are out.
Next year JJ and Crooks, etc become front and center.
And the more I think about it I don’t think Arenado is going anywhere???
Not as long as Mo is calling the shots. I think Bloom moves him this winter. He's been a useful player with his defense back to gg type play.

LoL. JW needs to earn his way back to MLB by proving it in AA, then AAA. He's an abomination so far

He certainly could be moved and I agree that based on his $$ moving him makes the most sense.
I will miss his defense but his bat is not worth the $$.
Weird situation.
NTC of course complicates matters.
With JJ looming for 2026 and also Saggese you have 2B covered.
Even if Gorman flops you have Donovan for 3B.

Why promote a weak hitting CF that was just released by another team when you have two guys at Memphis who were draftees, have busted their fannies all the way through the system, are good defensively, and are hitting close to .300. Doesn’t make sense.

It is typical of one of his moves. A rudderless ship.

Anyone BUT Hampson who's a nothing, total waste of PA's (.167 .297 .185 .482).
