Let's say Anderson, Holliday, Arnold and either Doyle or Arquette go before the Cardinals pick. That leaves, possibly, the best high school pitching prospect, Hernandez. And, possibly, the top high school hitting prospect, Willits.
The birds are sitting in a very good spot, I sure hope they don't cheap out
Right now, realistically, it's 1) Arnold 2) Willits 3) Hernandez as possibilities at 5 for the Cardinals.
I'm not sure where Arquette fits in. I've seen him described as the best college hitter in the upcoming draft. Frankly, I hope both he and Doyle are picked before the Cardinals pick.

NO!! There is no way Honky Tonk Man is one of Shady's socks. Just because he's happens to be around at the same time Shady is and agrees 100% with him does NOT mean they are the same person. No way, no how.
Even Lois Lane could catch on to him.

There's a decent chance that some combo of the three top college pitchers and Holliday will be the first four picks. If that's the case. I wouldn't mind the Cardinals going for Hernandez. Though a high school RHP, I've seen him described as the pitcher with the highest upside in the draft. True Ace-type potential.

Except saving some money. The Cardinals lucked out getting the #5 pick. They are also fortunate that there doesn't seem to be four players that will be a lot better than whomever is available for them at #5.

Why on earth would we want to save money on the draft right after we went through a reset and saved tens of millions of dollars annually for the precise goal of spending MORE on the draft and the minors???

I'd put less than a 1% chance the Cardinals take Hernandez. Right now, I think the Cardinals top 5 consists of (in some order) Holliday, Anderson, Arnold, Willits, and Arquette.
