Love what Burleson is doing but let’s be honest his defense could be a liability. However in many many examples a bat outplays defense. I’m ok with it.

That's one of the main reasons I felt he'd be successful. In addition to his talent, Burleson is very intelligent.

CTers were impressed with JW's play in RF and he was just meh too...
The netting allows for diving into stands with way less chance of injury.
The Cards do play some of the best team defense in the league, if not the best!

My only intent is to point out to a fellow poster colleague that saying a player looks and sounds like a "bubba" may not be the right casting of judgement on Burleson without doing a little research on the player. That's all. And I'm not a Shady fan.

Same here. When he’s locked in he’s a big asset. His problem so far has been doing it consistently. I hope he does - and props to you for adding a little caution to your typical Burly optimism.

He is very slow and has trouble cutting balls off before it reaches wall.
He's a DH, not an outfielder
He showed adequate range and speed last night. He’ll never be Garry Maddox, but he holds his own.
