Here's the list of eligibles, with this caveat: The Hockey Hall of Fame selection committee weighs games played; goals, and assists, then more weight for Stanley Cups, World Cups, World Championships, and Olympic Gold (only; silver and bronze don't count).... than for Hart; Art Ross; Norris; Calder; Conn Smythe, Vezina, and Lady Byng (god, please rename that!) Trophies. That strikes me as very odd.

Joe Thornton didn't win anything and had worse playoff numbers than Tkachuk.
At least Walt won the WC in 96

Thornton's 82 game playoff average:
Only 14 goals and 59 points

I guess they let Joe in for longevity.

Thornton is a no doubter HOF’er. I know Blues fans hate on him because of the Perron hit but the guy was just a phenomenal hockey player. Not everybody gets to win it all.

I’m going to get flamed for this but, outside of Sanford (who was the absolute laziest player I ever saw don the ‘Note), KT was my least favorite Blue of all time. Never liked his approach, and always thought he was overrated. Then he really lost me when he showed up to camp that year after the lockout and had to be sent home because he was so out of shape. That’s bush league nonsense right there. Shows the guy didn’t really care. Just wasn’t a fan.

Like I said - flame away.

During the lockout his home address was 1921 S. Brentwood Blvd.

Outside of the Blues, and Pavel Bure during his peak in the mid to late 90s, Lafontaine and Mogilny were a couple of my favorites. He was so fast. Such a great skater and he and Patty L. were a lot of fun together.

The Mogilny snubbing lasted so long it was crazy. I know he was a bit polarizing (he was definitely the type to phone in games), but between his very solid numbers and overall significance to the sport, it made no sense to keep him out. If Federov and Bure are in, he needed to be there as well.

Yeah I think it's only a matter of time. Once Roenick got in I think that cleared the way for Tkachuk. He's another 500 goal American power forward who lacks the individual or postseason hardware. Consistently good but rarely great.
