Can’t comment because have never seen him pitch.
You didn’t watch CWS last night game one.
I don’t like how the coach puts team above player.

And I’ll be honest… I don’t love Kade Anderson. I feel badly that his coach goes against any responsible level of usage for a 20 year old for his own personal gain. I don’t think any major league hurler has touched 130 pitches in a game this season and he’s done it twice. He’s thrown 100 or more pitches I think 11 times this year.

Tarik Skubal has thrown 100 pitches once this season.
Since you don’t love him, maybe a couple GMs feel same way. Does he fall to five.

If Nats don’t take him first then can’t see Angels not taking him at two. They love players they can call up to majors right away.

Throwing my hat in the ring to say that I’m not okay with it. But Kade Anderson is. Which is a lot closer to what the other poster actually said.

If Anderson (or any amateur pitcher) pushes back they have my full support.

The 20 year old college kid doesn’t know any better.

I remember the day I told my coach that my elbow wasn’t feeling right as I warmed to start that day. He literally said, “it’s tennis elbow, totally natural. You can push through.”

In my Tommy John post op, the surgeon remarked that based on the scar tissue buildup and bone spurs, he thought I likely partially tore it 4-5 years prior. I knew the day, but at the time, I didn’t know any better to say anything.

You mean the adult human who has millions of dollars riding on his healthy arm? The one with parents and advisors and probably even an agent?

Disagree.

But I saw three articles on LSU’s win today and all of them mentioned his pitch count so if he and his team were somehow all ignorant before then they aren’t any more.

And yet I’d still bet that LSU’s next ace will get the same treatment.

Some of the latest mocks have him going with the 2nd pick. A lot of that is reaction to his CWS performance.

If Anderson is there at pick 5, the Cardinals take him and run. Great pick. The only reason he falls is expressed elsewhere in the thread. Usage and injury risk. I can't see the Cardinals passing in him, though.

They have interesting choices if Anderson and Arnold are gone. Assume Holliday is gone too. The HS right handed, Hernandez may be there. A lot of folks here are in on the HS SS Willits as are some of the mocks at #5 pick.

JoJo Parker is a possibility, too. We’ll see draft is coming up soon, 3 weeks I believe.

I’m not okay with it. And my motive is simple, I’m responding to your comments which I don’t agree with.

You implied another poster was okay with abusing college arms. I pointed out what I believe is a more accurate interpretation of their comment, while answering the question you posed.

You then implied Kade Anderson doesn’t know about arm abuse because you didn’t at his age. So I highlighted a few possible differences between your situations.

His family might be ignorant. The fact that he’s already had Tommy John surgery and they’re allowing this to happen is insane.

I’d think it’s unlikely that he makes it to his first opportunity to get to free agency before the elbow breaks down again.

It’s not abuse… It’s called being an actual ball player… I promise his arm will not fall off
