I'm implying that Saggese is on the bench.3dender wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 14:54 pmHow can they both play at the same time if Saggese is playing? Donny goes to LF, Noot goes to RF, and Walker/Burleson/Gorman fight over DH.An Old Friend wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 14:53 pmhamstring
Should mean Gorman and Burleson are in the lineup most of the time, both have earned it
Unless Noot to CF?
Saggese called up

Re: Saggese called up
No secret with me that I think Oli slurps seeds, but playing Herrera at catcher sometimes allows him to put an offense-first lineup out there. I have no issue with Herrera playing some catcher.
Oli has screwed enough other stuff up, no need to blame this one on him.

Burleson is hitting 400 in June, he is not fighting for playing time...Right now the sure starters are3dender wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 14:54 pmHow can they both play at the same time if Saggese is playing? Unless Noot to CF?
Arenado 3B
Pages C
Winn SS
Scott CF
Contreras 1B
Donovan Wherever
Burleson RF or DH
That leaves 2 spots for Nootbar, Walker, Saggese and Gorman each game. Saggese has more flexibility than Herrera so if Mormol wants to sit one of the other 8 players each game, that means each of the remaning 4 guys can play 3 out of 4 games or 120 games per year, which is fine. That gives playing time for everyone.

Correct.riff raff wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 15:03 pmThe only reason I can think of is to get make playing time for someone else. Gorman?
Re: Saggese called up
And Gorman has a .946 OPS in June, so he’s earned some PT with that.ICCFIM2 wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 15:08 pmBurleson is hitting 400 in June, he is not fighting for playing time...Right now the sure starters are3dender wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 14:54 pmHow can they both play at the same time if Saggese is playing? Re: Saggese called up
I am with you on this and I am an Oli-basher. Once or twice a week behind the plate. Is there any news stating IH hurt the hammy catching? Could have been running the bases too. He has been hitting well again.... Anyone read that is was due to catching?Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 15:08 pm No secret with me that I think Oli slurps seeds, but playing Herrera at catcher sometimes allows him to put an offense-first lineup out there. Mystery injury for Herrera?

The same old from you. Just on here to criticize.JuanAgosto wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 15:04 pmOli has no sensible reason for anything. He follows Mo's orders. Neither should be constructing rosters or making lineups.

#STLCards DH/catcher Iván Herrera said an MRI taken today in St. Louis showed a Grade 2 strain in his left hamstring. He said he has been told he will miss “two to six weeks.”
He was warned that if he continued to play on the strain that it could lead to a season-ending injury.

Why not Burly RF, Donny LF, Saggese 2B and Gorman DH? Noot late defensive replacement/PH.ICCFIM2 wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 15:08 pmBurleson is hitting 400 in June, he is not fighting for playing time...Right now the sure starters are3dender wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 14:54 pmHow can they both play at the same time if Saggese is playing? This makes the decision to have him catch the past few weeks highly questionable.craviduce wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 16:00 pm John Denton

A young player is that fragile? He'll be fragile running the bases.ClassicO wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 16:11 pmThis makes the decision to have him catch the past few weeks highly questionable.craviduce wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025 16:00 pm John Denton
