Mcg needs innings. All starters need innings to grow. The pen needs those innings. Dumb.
28 games in 29 days...
I know. You’ve made that clear. Still can go more especially if pitch count was the measure. The load wasn’t heavy either. To assist your assertion reference 28 in 29 days, a long outing would assist that endeavor by saving the pen.

Always been my view long stretches require deep starts.
And if they have another double header? Extra innings? Multiple close games where you lean on 3-4 of your best relievers to catch the Scrubs? Can you guarantee enough opportunities/work for your entire pen without games on the line, to get innings?

I tend to think past the one game and recognize the upcoming schedule and need to get relievers innings. Next we will see complaints that JoJo hasn't pitched in 4 games...
Strong write. Nice. I see your point. Get some work in to prepare for the future. My point is- sooner or later you will come upon a pitcher who doesn’t have it that day. If you go longer with a starter, you minimize that.

And this isn’t one run games, 6-2, and 7-2 were very winnable games. We won one.

I see your move.

Pallante last 11 GS:

5.55 ERA
1.47 WHiP

If he gets smacked around again tonight and Mo doesn't make the switch, then he's even more inept than we thought
At the very least, McGreevy has no business going back to Memphis
Bingo

Pallante?
Mikolas?

He's better than both of them but for some reason Mo won't make the move. :?
Pallante might not be bad in a Matz-like bullpen role. Mikolas has me feeling at least semi-confident when he takes the mound.
His reverse splits still make him vulnerable to RHH'ers (.298 .365 .497 .862).

He may need Memphis (again) to see if he regain whatever he found after his last visit down south last season.

Let McGreevy pitch against the Dubbies. Big time game. Player with an upward trajectory. Replace Mikolasss and his 68 MPH curveballs.

A must - do not let the Marmot any where near the stadium.

We saw the aftermath…..Oli needs to let these starters eat if they’re doing well
McGreevy needs to stay in rotation
He last pitched on 6-14 vs Gwinett. Working on only 4 days rest.

Yesterday, seeing the young pitchers, McGreevy and Granillo, being so productive is encouraging now and for the future.

His other starts this year were against the Mets and Dodgers. He did just as well against them.
