Tornados, wind damage and lots of rain have already happened mainly around Springfield area of Illinois and NE. Some of those have moved into Indiana, but weather risk continues into the evening with new developments likely.

I’m thinking do they want 30 K additional on the road at rush hour trying to get to game.

That’s cute, you think there are 30,000 going to a White Sox game

But there are 2 games in Chicago tonight, too.

Good point.
Currently watching Ryan Hall and storm chasers on youtube. Clouds are really low today making it hard to see things from the ground. Instead of rain wrapped tornados they've been cloud wrapped sometimes today.
Chicago area isn't in the highest risk area today, but they are still in the enhanced risk area on the map. I think you're spot on thinking it'll be cancelled tonight.

What can I say. Cards in town. You get my point. Lots of moving parts up till gane time, to just cancel then. They might do it ahead of time.

The rain is there now, so we will see.

Wonder if the Cubs will cancel too?

There are windows to get game in if they want too.

DH is no favor to Cards.

Futuregm2 wrote: 18 Jun 2025 11:07 am We’ve already had 5 double headers this year, another one would make 6.

Last season we had 5 all season (only 1 at this point in the schedule).

In 2023 we had 1 all season and it wasn’t until July 1st.

In 2022 we had 6 all year, but 3 at this point.
Good legwork. So we are well ahead of last three seasons.

Any advantages there.
Only advantage is to the team with a deeper bullpen. Facing a team like the ChiSox, I don’t think it particularly matters.

"That’s cute, you think there are 30,000 going to a White Sox game."

WS avg 16,691/home game on 38 home games

Attendance over 30,000 - 3
Opening Day vs Angels
April 12 Boston
June 6 - KC

Attendance 20,000 - 30,000 - 5
Angels
May 3 Houston
May 10 Miami
May 25 Texas
June 8 KC

Recently WS avg approx 12,000 vs Detroit and 26,043 (weekend series) vs KC. Absolutely no way approx 13,000 Cardinal fans, beyond those already in attendance, are going to Chicago to watch them play WS.

I'm waiting for the 6th man decision. Maybe a double header forces the issue.

Oh, I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain
I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I’ve seen lonely days when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I’d see you
One more time again
Thought I’d see you
Thought I’d see you fire and rain
There’s just a few things comin’ my way this time around.
