Hick's remaining salary was $28M cash sent from the Red Sox to the Giants to reduce the total cost of Devers contract.
The Red Sox prizes were Harrison and Tibbs... unloading an unhappy employee... and saving a lot of money
Why can they get it done and Mo can't?
Who is Devers on the Cards? Please, menstrual bright genius, who would the Cards trade? To what team? For what retur
I know you will provide nothing...
Why can't Mo dump Arenado and his bad contract. Sorry you couldnt understand my point. I thought it would be assumed by most that Devers is the last guy the Cardinals would want. But thankfully I don't feel the need to insult people like you do. Now there's something Chief.
I put that [dill weed] on my foes list and it couldn’t have worked out any better. Try it. He thinks he’s Don Rickles, Jr. Never anything of substance; just insults every poster he can.

Devers has a big contract, but he is a 300 hitter in his prime years. Arenado’s price goes down after this season. He only has 2/$25 remaining for 2026 and 2027. We can give him away then.

If you look at Devers #'s, they're eerily like Herreras. Except Herrera has a higher average and 1/2 the at bats. They're both best suited as dh. But Herrera comes without the attitude and huge contract.

It's not worth the effort to put him on ignore. Maybe I get a sick satisfaction from watching his meltdowns. He only comes my way once in a while, but I will consider your advice. Thanks.

Herrera has 400 career at bats. Devers has produced 7 seasons of those numbers.

M. Betts
X. Boegarts

Couldn't happen to a better franchise/fan base

To be fair, the return is more than hicks. Its hicks and.kyle.harrison as well as low level prospects Jose Bello and james tibbs.
My guess is
devers was requesting trade
He did, in the spring according to reports.
No more than a salary dump (AGAIN!) by the BoSox as the return is a big "meh".
Tibbs is a 13th overall pick but hes so far out he could still flame out. Bello could be useful reliever but is also years out. Harrison has potential but they took bad contract in hicks in return.
Trade honestly might been okay salary dump if they didnt have to take hicks in return.
Surprised red sox didnt trying eating some salary for better return. I guess thats what taking hicks contract basically was but they just ate some salary essentially while getting prispects so far out they could flame out and maybe hope harrison can bloom.
Itd be funny if devers agreed to play some 1b for san fran after refusing for boston

Yea Tibbs is the jewel (potentially) for the Sox' but he's been "meh" in A ball (.244 .352 .432 .784).
Bello has a career 4.29 ERA, he's JAG. No idea about Harrison.
We all know Hicks (6.47 ERA) is "meh" as well.
I loathe the Sox' and their fan base, must s u c k for them seeing Betts, Boegarts and now Devers walk away.

Well Devers has a 152 OPS+ and 18 doubles, 15 HRs, and 58 RBI in 73 games. Arenado has a 93 OPS+ and 11 doubles, 8 HRs, and 36 RBI in 67 games. And more importantly Arenado has a NTC.

Probably thankful to not have Bogaerts there anymore. Has a .625 OPS this season and Padres still on the hook for 8 more years at $25 million a year after this season.

Yea but while in Boston (.292 .356 .458 .814) and it pained the fan base when he left.
And I'm sooooooo glad the Padres are on the hook for him!

I understand Devers is a more tradeable player. But you would think we could have moved Arenado. And we all know he has that ntc. It just gets frustrating when he is preventing us from fully evaluating other guys who may or may not have a future here. He doesn't. I give him his props- he's a future hof and not a bad guy in any way. With Devers attitude, I would rather have Nolan. But still, neither are fits here.
