Young men do stupid, frivolous things. We all did in our 20s. As long as it doesn't negatively impact their play they can do whatever the hell they want. At least it's better than the pajama pant trend from a few years ago, when they were tucking their pant legs over their shoes. I don't care so much that it looked stupid, but that it was stupid in that it caused problems in running. I think it finally took a guy tripping over his own pant leg resulting in a game-losing misplay which finally reversed that trend. Until someone's gold chain flops up into someone's face and causes a critical misplay then simply ignore it.

Chains can be beneficial in certain work situations. Remember episode on Andy Griffith where Deputy Barney Fife who had to meet new Civil Service requirements of height/weight , was stretched to get to the minimum height and then after being fed tons of food by Aunt Bee (and was still a bit under required weight ) wore a large thick chain with his ID tag under his uniform shirt. He passed the test ! Rules said ID tag with chain was acceptable . Didn't say how heavy the chain could be ! LOL
