True, Bulldog. But as Cardinal fans, you know we expect better. When we went on that hot streak we saw it and got excited. Lately seems to be reverting back to worse situational performance and not so great in game management. Also, defensive lapses, like VS2 breaking back on a flare he could have caught in the first inning before a 3 run homer. Mikolas can't overcome that. Gibby could have. And would have. GO REDBIRDS!!!

I hear ya. As any fan you expect the best outcome. Baseball is a game where a team with a 55 percent wining percentage is a power, and players hitting 250 is an all star. My point was the talent level from team to team is neguable. Very level.
So from game to game, it’s really a (bleep) shoot.
Yes miscplayed blls like walks seem to score.

Does Roycroft have secondary pitches? Seems like everything he throws is a fastball
He has a slider but almost never uses it. 6.1% in memphis and only 1.4% of time in mlb this year
4 seamer 26.3% and sinker(2seam fastball) 56.2% of time but they have simjlar velocity
He has a cutter that he uses as his secondary pitch but only 16.1% of time.
The cutter seems to be a replacement for his slider. In 2024 he threw the slider more and no cutter after throwing cutter a little in minors in 2023.This year hes transitioned to cutter instead of slider
He has no changeup or any other secondary pitches. Just mostly fastball-sinker and 4 seam with occasional cutters.
