You fellas are all better at looking up stats and WAR and such than me. I just base my opinions on how a player performs, how he acts and how much pub he looks for. I would nominate Terry Pendleton and Willie Mcgee. Don't remember the specific years but both were underrated in my estimation. And two of my faves.

Nice one.

Kinda reminds me of my favorite pick-up of the Jocketty era... Woody Williams. Picked up at the deadline in '01, went 7-1 down the stretch with a 2.28 ERA. Then, 17 starts in '02(before injury) going 9-4 with a 2.53 ERA. I wasn't on the forum yet, but I imagine people (bleep) all over that deal. Whatever Dave Duncan did for Williams it was bordering on sorcery.

I was overseas quite a bit during the Williams years, so unfortunately I didn’t get to see him pitch a whole heck of a lot. But yeah, he definitely deserves a mention on this list.
