Could get interesting.
I’m guessing with mos history it want be very interesting at the deadline. Even if the cards are in contention he will either say the cards need to win with what they have or he will trade for a mediocre reliever
He signed Maton. You don't know if the reliever would be mediocre or not.

Mo got 2 pitchers at the deadline in 2022 that helped the Cards win 93 games.

We've been a 90 win team since Mother's day last year.
lol maton absolutely fell into their laps because no one else wanted him and how did that 2022 team do? One and done? The cardinals could absolutely make the post season but don’t be naive enough to think mo is going to do anything significant at the deadline he hasn’t done anything significant since 2011 and that was because of Tony

I guess what I'm asking is what do people believe will happen with what were thought to be (and still probably are) trade pieces at the deadline so they get something for these pending FA's and of course unload Arenado?
The most likely to be traded is Helsley due to contract expiring, he is young, and solid reliever ( or I hope so).

I don’t think they will trade Arenado if they are in contention. Or Matz. They can move Helsley and at least one of Mikolas/Fedde without necessarily making the team worse or killing the clubhouse. Can’t say that for Arenado and Matz.
