Nah:
Rob Cerfolio, who is the Cardinals' new assistant general manager, player development and performance, came over from the Guardians after working with the organization for the last decade, most recently overseeing their player development organizationally. Cerfolio's role has him being pretty hands-on with all levels of the organization, so he would have worked with Plesac throughout his time with the Guardians. Larry Day, the Cardinals' new director of player development, also spent time with Plesac in Cleveland.

I wonder if his velocity is back. It evaporated in 2023-2024.

True. Most likely he is McGreevy's replacement in the Memphis rotation.

Why not just trade Plesac ?
If he had trade value, he wouldn’t have been freely available

If he pitches himself into a position to replace matz, then he would probably have to trade value at that point. And Matz has local value to our pen so we need to keep him since we are winning.

Still has the garbage truck trolling the back alleys of MLB looking into the dumpsters, wonder if that's what Girsh has been doing...driving the trash truck?
They said on the radio this signing was due to the Cleveland guys in the front office being fans of this guy. But go ahead and hate in Mo is the easy thing to do.

Because angst is the fuel which drives many on this forum. Amazing to get worked up by this signing.

With the new people in the front office, I am not bothered by some of the experimenting in the way I was before. I think they approach some of these things as experiments and not necessarily solutions. I have more confidence in the actions taken because;
1) It feels more like someone is minding the store now than before. There are more positions in the office and they seem proactive.
2) They seem smarter about analytics and more interactive with the players than before.
3) I have no doubt they are better talent evaluators than what we have been dealing with.

My opinion of Mo overall is slightly negative but I don't understand these people who criticize these kind of moves. There's nothing to lose.
