I would sum up that first period with Edmonton’s best players were there best players, many of Florida’s best were largely invisible.

They spent the entire first period on the power play. Of course they look good with an extra man on the ice.

Florida can’t even play their game because they can’t afford to be shorthanded any longer.

Most of them seems legit. I can see the Bennett one being questionable, but as I said earlier, refs are on to him with those falling on goaltender plays...right or wrong.

The Bennett, Mikkola and Ekblad penalties were pretty soft. I didn’t see the need for the Tkachuk matching minor with Ekholm (I think). The Seth Jones one, Kane high stick and the trip on the Edmonton powerplay were the only clear calls.

Maybe Mikkola. Can't remember if it was him or Ekblad that did the blatant trip...that was a penalty IMO.

I think the Tkachuk penalty was because he skated towards Skinner chirping at him while he was being attended too. So matching with whoever went after him.

For the most part I agree. I think the refs were trying to cool it down, but it's not working.
