He's a beast, and we're lucky to have him. Lots of good points already made on here.
So maybe he came into this season too hyped, contributing to his slow start, but excited to see what he does the rest of this season.

Stop with the logical rational analysis…..CT can’t handle it
“He will be an elite hitter at 33 because he’s been moved from catcher”….please repeat after me
Did anyone call him an elite hitter? I think he’s a very good hitter, I wouldn’t say he’s “elite”.
Well sure…all offseason…take the tools of ignorance off and watch the production sky rocket….so through 1/3 of the season he’s basically the guy he’s always been…..then no difference….now the mantra is he had a good 2-3 weeks and we’ll extrapolate that til the end of season
I agree he is basically who he has been in the past and his totals will probably be similar. What has surprised me is his defense and the way he hustles on every play. On most good teams he would be their #6 hitter, not the cleanup hitter.
There wasnt even 30 qualified hitters with an ops over .800 last year. No most good teams dont have an .800 ops hitter hitting 6th

Contreras is way down on the list of issues. Even if he is what he has always been, that's a good hitter. Certainly not great but a good hitter that is not an issue. He has been solid defensively and provides some intensity that is always welcome.

Contreras = just fine. No problem with him being a middle of the order bat either.

I did hear and read some nonsense in the preseason about him possibly being a top 5 mvp guy and that is over the top but that doesn't mean he is not an asset just because some folks got carried away.
