Trade
Helsley
Miles
Matz
NA

Waste of roster space
All have contributed to multiple wins.
Ditto. It's not like any of those guys are going to return high ranking prospects in a trade. The Cards are still in play to win the Central. Why cash out?
No need to cash out.

KC totally outplayed us in 1985 in that Series. We were, no doubt, the much more talented team. We just played horrible. Enough of that. I live less than an hour from KC and, through the last 3 decades when we have owned the Royals.....I never say a word to their fans. I'm not like that. And the minute they win against us.....they start ribbing me. I hate Royals fans!
1985 was painful.
And I know Denkinger blew that call but the series should have never gone beyond 5 games!
Won first two in KC!
Royals were good but Cards were superior!
Losing 4 of 5 to a team with a booger eating spaz like Balboni hitting in the middle of their lineup is inexcusable.

Somebody should have kept Coleman away from that tarp too.

Another reason to hate Cincy! They sold it to us.

Tell us about the specific offers he turned down for him. It would really help us better evaluate the decision.

He’s working on the research.
I can’t remember if he’s posting as Bully4you or Kentucky Kid tomorrow???

MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: 05 Jun 2025 15:31 pm I hate the Royals. Not sorry. Have to live among a bunch of those yappers and they are bad and obnoxious when they beat the Cardinals.
I know the pain all too well, and I'm only in Columbia. Kansas City folk are the worst. At least Chicago is capable of being put in their place. Kansas City-ans will act like they won the world series after one win.
Agreed.

I can't stand it when I see St. Louis Chiefs fans, and they are everywhere these days. Like seriously, you know KC people hate St. Louis sports teams, right? It's all such a weird dynamic.
Don't get me started on that. One, even when the Chiefs sucked, I hated the Chiefs. I get physically ill when I see someone with a Cards and/or Blues sticker on their car, and that godforsaken Chiefs logo. That gets on the fighting side of me.

And I will NEVER forget how the same Royals fans I know actively rooted against St. Louis in '06/'11/'13 in the Series clutched pearls that I actively rooted against the Royals (yes even for the Mets). "But we're a Missouri team! We rooted for you!"

Yeah, my eye, they did. Definitely why my Irish is up a bit right now in these parts. I want nothing but complete domination of anything Kansas City.
Personally, i really dont care anything about fans of other teams and ive never really had weird interactions with any of them. But i keep a low profile. Im not a getbfired up a out spirts kind of guy. I cheer for my teams but dont enjoy the getting wild and heated and trying to trash ither teams attitude. Thats never been my thing. I have more experience with obnoxious st. Louis fans of teams i cheer for than any other fanbase because of message boards.

His regression was already baked into the expectations and therefore no other GMs made an impressive offer last offseason.

This is no surprise.

A big decision coming up on Helsley, for sure. He's certainly not a "lights out" closer, currently. If a team in the hunt feels he still is and is willing to part with a top five talent in their organization. The decision should be easy for Mo.

It takes 2 to make a trade. Other teams could have called and offered terrible deals.

I'd rather keep Helsley than trade him for junk

What trade was that??? Don't you have a nap to take now that your soiled diaper was changed?

Do you think Helsley should’ve been traded in the offseason or not?

Helsley has 13 saves in 16 save opportunities . 13 saves is tied for 4th best in the N.L. ! OF the 8 NL guys with 10 or more saves, Helsley ranks 5th in ERA of those guys .
