The alternative is a reset with losing baseball. I’ll take the former.

Where do they get the superstar power bat and TOR ace to reach the next level? Spending is the only answer
Either internal development, which never seems to happen, or spending. You’d think the shucking of contracts would precede the expected buy.

They put on forced trades and trade Burleson for James Wood and Gorman for Tarik Skubal.

They don’t develop power hitters since Albert ot Power pitchers since Gibson. Going to have to be trade or FA

About sixty five games in, and now two wins over LAD. Any thoughts. I said 81-81. They are certainly outperforming that.

putting mcgreev in rotation is a good start and Pallante could be good piece in BP where he was good couple years ago. entertaining team which is more than most of us expected. One constant is outstanding D. Lets see how rest of season goes.

The defense might be the best in baseball. The staff is over performing, but of course we will take it. Pallante pitches better at home. Hes my number five. Four runs five plus innings is a win if 3/4 of the remaining staff performs.

Very true, but at least they’re showing some fight compared to the last few seasons, already a few comebacks and late-inning runs.
You spent more than a few comebacks brother. This team doesn’t quit, which along with its defense is probably the best quality.

Per MLB "Standings" stats the Cards are 19 - 14 vs .500 or above teams. Below .500 teams 17 - 14.
Road record is 14 - 18. IF going to contend need to improve that record to .500 or better especially with the upcoming Dubbies and Brewer series. . Mets, Dodgers, and Astro's all contenders are at or 1-2 games below .500 in road games.

And that 19 -14 record vs teams >.500 is 2nd best in the NL!
Bolds well since all the playoff teams they may face, if they make it, are of course above .500.
