Wait, who is the current GM of the Cardinals?
MO is POBO
Girsch is VP of Special Projects (former GM)
Bloom is Special Adviser set to become POBO.
Who is the current GM? Is MO POBO and GM?
Mo is POBO, I think Bloom is effectively the GM for this season, but they wanted him to pick his GM for next year. It’s possible it’s going to be Cerfolio or maybe Bloom will bring someone else in.

I would sure feel better if I knew he was going to play a super-prominent role in July. I don't think Bloom is bolder, or less risk-averse than Mozeliak. The people in Boston were largely exasperated by his deliberate pace. The benefits of Bloom having a big voice at the deadline are that I think he is a MUCH better talent evaluator, and it seems like he surrounds himself with smart people and listens to them. Up until the hiring of Bloom, Mo has not.
Bosox aren't doing well the 2 years after Bloom left. You would think that his plans would have went to fruition by now for Boston.

I wish him well, but, you know I'm skeptical of Bloom who is young, but, hasn't proven himself yet. I think Mo would have done better in Boston than Bloom.
Just because posters gang up together and claim Bloom is going to be a great POBO doesn't make it so.
I wish him well and will root for him to bring a championship every 10 years. Hope we can win 90 games for many seasons.

Tank - my biggest fear is that fans will think he’s going to turn out a Central Division Championship team right away, and consistently for years to come.
He did a very nice job for a decade in Tampa. And a friend in Boston says he got a raw deal, after highly improving the system. But one of the best things he has done so far in my thinking is the hiring Rob Cerfolio away from the Guardians. Cerfolio’s one of the truly bright and up and coming guys in all baseball.

I seriously suspect Bloom is calling the shots now. Mo, because of his long tenured service, was offered an honorary exit. DeWitt is honoring that. Mo is a figurehead. I've worked for many corporations and seen many senior loyal managers put out to pasture in a similar fashion.

There is no way on Gods green earth that a mentally competent owner/executive is going to have a young upcoming POBO under contract and let the old outgoing publicly suspect POBO call the shots that will impact the new guy going forward.
NOW I stated mentally competent Owner. That is TBD here after this chitshow the last couple years.

Bloom's ex-team the Red Sox are 4 games under .500. Bloom finished last 3 times with the Sox.
The Cardinals have produced several starters from their draft picks and 1 international FA in Herrera. We have more talent on the way. Bloom didn't do well and it shows 2 years later with the Red Sox.
Why do you continue to ignore the fact that Bloom was hired by the Sox and he was immediately told to cut payroll?
You're so pro-Mo it's making you look ignorant.

You mean the same owner who permitted his knucklehead POBO to hire 3 managers in a row who had nary a lick of managing experience and then claimed winning was important to the organization? Oh yeah, there is a way alright.

Let’s say I’m the General Counsel of a mid-sized company and I want to hire a #2 person. Do I go to the local law school and pick out a recent grad? That’s crazy stuff, yet Moe did it 3 times. The insecure little pric k.
