I think these numbers are correct.
Cards and Cubs have both been great but Cubs record is right in sync with their pythag.
Philly is over-performing, Giants and Braves can't get out of their own way, Rockies need to get a grip, and how bout those Nats?
Code: Select all
Tm W L W-L% GB RS RA pythW-L%
STL 19 8 .704 -- 126 99 .609

COL 4 24 .143 15.5 85 191 .185
Is bet that ranks top three all time May records.
Don't tell the Philly fans that their team is over-performing. They just lost a sweep at home to the Brewers. Heard the boob birds after the final out in 9th. Though a good May .. always 'what have you done for me lately ' with the Philly faithful.

"always 'what have you done for me lately ' with the Philly faithful."
High points for those Philly fans -
1. Booing Santa C - pretty sure the NFL fans are related to MLB fans.
2. Booing Ryan Howard when he suffered an achilleas tendon injury attempting to run to 1st base, game 5 playoff game vs Cards.
Yep very special group of team supporters.

The 19-8 in May was great ...704 winning percentage
Unfortunately , in June the team is winless .000 percentage
That's a 704 point drop in back to back months . MIght be largest one-month drop in MLB history .
Have time though to rebound. Go Cards !

!. Not only booing Santa but pelting Santa with snowballs at Eagles game as he strolled the sidelines. No wonder the NLF initiated a rule that all stadiums with snow must have it removed from the stands, if possible so no snowball throwing.

The 2004 team went 41-12 over 2 months
29 games over in 56 days (minus All Star break) in July and August.
Great team.
Then came October.

Great month
Sadly picked up one lousy game on the equally hot scrubbies
They're not scrubbies if they're on pace for 101 wins. Just like St. Louis isn't the Tards if they're 7 games above .500.

They've always been the scrubbies northsider and always will be.
Just as to you Chicagoans we'll always be the Tards even w/those 11 World Series flags flying high over Busch Stadium.
It's what makes the rivalry fun!

Yes we can boast when it comes to baseball. But hockey, basketball and football are a different conversation.
Chicago has some bragging rights.

Gotta be fair.
But as for their hockey and football and basketball, they are rooted deeply in the past.
I think fans in Chicago are caught somewhere between a memory and a dream.

Other than the 85' Bears you'd have to go way back for their football glory, they've pretty much s u c k ed for 40 years since that Ditka team.

That was my point, they have the bling, but it’s awfully tarnished.

The last Cardinal's World Series win was 14 years ago. The Blackhawks have won two Stanley Cups and the Cubs have won a World Series since. So, pot... kettle?

We’ll see where you’re at when you get past the cupcake schedule of the last 3 weeks, which ends on Thursday. Prior to this part of the schedule, you were on pace for 90 wins.
I think they’re good, but not 101 win good. It will be a close race. IMO

The last Scrubbie World Series win prior to 2016 was 108 years (

) before 2016, meanwhile the Cardinals added 11 World Series titles to their NL best and second best in MLB resume during that time.

You're focusing on the next couple of weeks, but actually the Cubs are already past the hard part of their schedule. Overall, they have an easier schedule record-wise the rest of the way. No more games against the Dodgers or Padres. Have fun with that.
