It's a great point. I can watch on my new Samsung 85" TV. Food is cheaper, beverages are cheaper, the restroom is close by and always clean. No gas used and I don't pay to park. No crowds and I don't worry about crime with my two dogs and my SIG P365 at my side. Not a bad seat in the house and the temperature is always just right!

Only time I go in person is if I'm taking the grandkids. Two or three times a year.
If you need an Sig at your side to watch a baseball game on your TV at home I’d say there are larger issues at play than parking and clean restrooms.
So much drama and misinformation about going downtown. I've been many times and never had a problem.

Park in a garage, enjoy the game, walk out with the crowd. Listen to what your grandma said that nothing good happens after midnight and go home.

No issues. No problems. Have the teeniest bit of courage. And you don't need a gun for it.

I have my SIG otherwise me at all times, even when deer or Turkey hunting. I'd rather have it and not need it than not have it and need it.

So far, so good but in my career I met a lot of really bad people and I have an acute understanding of how cruel people can be.
Up until the last month or so, this team’s performance the past few years would make anyone want to pull an Elvis and put a round into the TV! 😂

Your head is clearly in the sand. Despite the carjackings, abductions, robberies, and murders in the city, there are still people who believe it can and will NEVER happen to them. Many are right. Sadly, many are wrong.

I spent over 25 years defending some of the worst St Louis has to offer. If given the chance most will rob, rape, beat, or kill you if they think they can get away with it.

No, I've yet to pull my gun. Maybe I'm lucky? Maybe because I'm nearly 6'6" and over 240 pounds? But if I do need it, I'll have it and I won't hesitate to use it.

Walking from a parking garage to a stadium and back in a big group of people is perfectly safe. But man, some people are REALLY looking for an excuse to bust a cap in someone.

Mine will be brewless, but same plan. Quit the drinking in 1987.

Monsieur,

I am not a police officer nor have ever had to put my life in the line under fire for someone else. Nor have been a defense attorney or minister and know the actual stories.

I did have a neighbor who was a cop and had to retire early due to PTSD from what he had experienced . I couldn't begin to speak to your journey. I would just listen and thank you for your service.

I have worked with a church in north city in a neighborhood much, much rougher than downtown. I'll admit to a real gut check if I go there after dark and will find some other time. I do not carry a weapon because I know I wouldn't use it. You can call me lucky, blessed or just naive.

All that said, I believe it's possible to leave the weapon locked up ant home and get out to the ball park to just enjoy a game. Just like when we were young. It's not a war zone there. Just a fun team to watch playing their arses off for the fans. All in a highly public place with plenty of officers of the peace officers around.

If you and others don't want to go, that's fine. I root from home 99% of the time. But if you wanted to make the trek, I'll offer to meet up in the bleachers. I'll buy you a beverage of your choice and we can just talk baseball.

The worst thing that will happen is the Cardinals don't show up. But would still enjoy the experience. A cheerleader might even throw a t-shirt at you.

Peace. Enjoy your evening. Go Cardinals.

Outstanding post by RunSup! And I get the impression that Monsieur is indeed, or at least retired as a St Louis cop. Also his handle is French for working man. Pretty cool. Also agree that it's nice to occasionally attend a game in person. But I still despise the DH in the NL. And let me just echo your thoughts to Monsieur De Travailer: Thank you for your service!!!

Since when do cops “defend some of the worst St. Louis has to offer”? They put them in jail and then defend them? Clearly, from what he said he was a criminal defense attorney. His job was to get them off.
