McGreevy is the only SP depth the Cards have as of now. Plus the team is winning. The talk of trading a SP to make a spot for McGreevy is not the right baseball decision. Sure, McGreevy deserves to be in the MLs, no argument here. But, very rarely do starting rotations make it the entire year without a starter going down. If my memory is correct, 2015 is the last year the Cards achieved that. So more likely than not, McGreevy will get his chance. Second, trading when you are winning doesn't seem like a good clubhouse move. Lets see how this plays out.

No. He’s a Road Warrior. He wins on the road. Team is 4-3 in his SEVEN starts on the road. Need guys like this. If he don’t walk people he’s good. Mikolas is holding McG spot.
Not hardly BDog,
He's more like Road Kill!
McGreevy's the better option.
Not the way to do business- send a guy down who is doing his job. Through attrition and performance McG will get his. Not this way.
And his starts have been against good teams in rough locations.
Or maybe we wait a little longer then trade McGreevey for Pete Crow Armstrong, or Oneil Cruz.

Pallante and McGreevy will both be in the starting rotation after August 1. Fedde, Mikolas and Matz will all likely be gone, as they are pending free agents the Cards likely won’t re-sign.

I think it's great that the team is playing well enough that one the few complaints available would center around keeping Pallante in the rotation. He has been up and down lately but he has proven if given a leash he will likely figure things out. And his bad hasnt been terrible. We have a chance to win most of his starts. McGreevy will get his chance either by injury or attrition in the coming months. I would not send Pallante anywhere but back to the mound every 5th day for the Cardinals.

McGreevy will be up at some point, but I wouldn't do anything with Pallante right now. My thought is that between someone getting injured, someone getting traded, Liberatore running out of gas (it is his first full season as a starter after all) McGreevy is going to get the call sooner or later.
Plus, Pallante is another of those "runway" guys who I would like to see be given a chance to work through his struggles.

That would be the correct move for the team to make IMO. Along with Helsley.

I think it's too early. Put McGreevy into the race this soon may burn him out innings wise. I don't have a problem bringing him up a time or two, or in July...but now, I think, too soon.

Huge, he is throwing six innings a game in Memphis anyway. Not that big a difference in the majors.

Pallante has earned the patience required for him to correct my current issues he's having.

I know. I follow duce's thread too. But, there is no urgency to pitch him every 5th day. My guess is that the wear and tear won't be as great as well. If the FO thought it would be beneficial to sit McGreevy for ten days, 2 weeks, the season consequences would be negligible in AAA.
I just don't think McGreevy has built his arm up enough over the last couple years to go straight to the majors and play out a full postseason.

If there is
anyone in the minors ready for it, it's McGreevy.
