Is Herrera's future simply as a DH and maybe part time catcher or some other position? The Cards offense sure improved when Herrera returned to the lineup.
Does he need to be anything else? Why does he need to play the field at all?
Having positional versatility would help his resume considerably, making him more valuable to this team or any other. Gives a team some insurance with flexibility when injuries occur, obviously assuming Herrera could learn to play LF and 1B as an example reasonably well.

So just extrapolating Herrera's current pace out to 552 AB's, and yes, it's not a reasonable pace, it's just for fun.
So currently Herrera has 69 AB's, so just taking everything times 8.
552 AB's, 136 runs, 48 doubles, 40 HR's and 200 RBI's. Hack Wilson might be 6' under, but he just blinked.
Amazing what a .391/.463/.696/1.159 slash line might be able to do over the course of the season.
But that's impossible, right? Ok, so let's be sane and just take 80% of that production.
.312/.370/.556/.927. Yeah, that works, lol.
Just curious....assuming full health for the remainder of the season and with the time already missed...Is 552 ABs even possible for Herrera in 2025?
So after today the Cards regular season is .333 over. About the most AB's anyone on the team has at the 1/3 mark is 200.
So roughly 200 + 200 +70 = 470 AB's is about all Herrera could get with no more injuries this season, as he has 69 currently and should pick up a few more today.

Yep, and Pages is a couple feet/sec. less slow than Burleson last time I checked.
Now Pozo, yeah, he's slow even for a catcher, lol.

I assume no such thing. He's played 5 games at 1b in 8 years. JD Martinez and Kyle Schwarber are/were DH only. El cafecito wasn't good at any position
