Actually I think they're kind of even, Cards might be even better. Again, take away those 8 losses where the Cards had leads late and lost and win half of them and the Cards are in 1st. Win 3/4 of them and even better.

They have lost their ace starting pitcher, Justin Steele, for the year with a UCL injury. Imanaga is currently on the IL with a hamstring strain and will probably be out until mid June. As far as how they stack up, 12xu laid it out pretty good. They seem beatable, and the division winnable, but probably with a move or two. Now, who do you think has the bigger feet…?

So if we don’t count Cardinal loses then the Cardinals are better ? The Cubs have lost their share of these games also. Most teams have.

I think they have the better top end talent. Tucker and Shota. But I think they have several massively over-performing. PCA might be good but not this good. Carson Kelly come on. Boyd rea flexen Pomeranz etc all have long histories of injury or mediocre performances. I think we can hang with them I just don’t want rentals if we are in the race. Want to look long term year over year contention with a solid farm.

The true tests for the Cards are the next 5-6 series. One series win against the Phillies is great, as is beating teams you should, but here comes a run while the scrubs get a much easier strength of schedule.

We play the cubs once a month starting June 23. Then within ten days, Fourth of July we play again. Then not again til mid August. Then last series of year.

Think about this. No play for 2.7 months. Then once a month, with a month between games.odd.
