He will probably get into the dodgers famed pitching lab everyone drools about quadruple his spin rate have a 0.89 ERA through 20 innings then go on the 60 day IL with shoulder or elbow problems
The lab that has the following high-priced pitchers on the IL?
Snell
Glasnow
Kershaw
Kopech
Treinan
When you acquire all these guys and they can't pitch, your lab is not doing its job.
Exactly my point their pitching lab that people sings praises out chews pitchers up and spits them out on IL

Cash considerations? Dewitt is no doubt putting it away with all the other dry powder hes been storing over the years
I often wonder how much $ in minor deals like this.

Well played.
Agreed. Last season the Dodgers used 41 pitchers. Already in April they burned through 22.
Re the Wash U. link, the priceless, longtime Padres announcer Ted Leitner had a marvelous take on MIT grad/pitcher Jason Szuminski appearing in a MLB game in the early 00s:
"Twelve MIT grads have won Nobel Prizes. Three have been to outer space. But only one, Jason Szuminski, has retired Barry Bonds on a fly ball to left."
Szuminski didn't last long in The Show. Allowing 12 hits and 11 walks in only 10 innings tends to make you expendable.

Do those who don't pay for the access to the wonderful newspaper...
It's nothing reliever Ryan Loutos sent to the Dogturds for cash
From the start of 2023 to the present, he has logged 134 innings on the farm with a 5.10 earned run average, 24.2% strikeout rate and 10.7% walk rate.
I mean- i dont think loutos is great or anything, but thats a very cherry picked way of framing it. He had an era over 6.5 in 2023 but 3.4 and 3.38 the last 2 years. Thats kinda relevant.
Anyways, he isnwho we dfad from 40 man to add barrero so it was trade for little or let hom be claimed off waivers soon. But i dont umderstand why we wiave him over riley o brien who is a 30 year old career minor leaguer

Probably not a ton. We dfad loutos from 40 man to add barrero so we had a weel to trade him before he went on waivers. Dodgers are near the end of the waiver priority order so they just said theyd pay us money so they didnt have to wait and see if other teams put in a claim who had priority over them.
I dont imagine he mo wasnt getting a ton of calls about loutos so gwtting something over nothing when he got claimed is what mo did.

A pox upon me for a clumsy Loutus.
