Thoughts on Winn in 2 hole???
Why? What does he provide? WillyCon has more doubles, Hrs and SBs!
Contreras has 3 doubles, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 6 runs, and 6 GIDP in 98 PA batting 2nd.
Last 7 games : 357/455/500/955
He had a slow start
Last 15 games: 293/369/448/817
Good, then we can get a more productive bat in the 5th spot, which is the area of the lineup that Contreras should have been in all along. Winn is hitting .319/.377/.426 over his last 14 games.

Cardinals are surprisingly the highest SLG% team in baseball from the 5th spot with a .518 SLG% (1st by 50 points!), but get this...
It's literately based off of 3 players
Herrera: 8 PA (1.714 SLG%...on IL)
Contreras: 4 PA (1.500 SLG%...now hitting 5th)
Donovan: 12 PA (.917...usually hitting 3rd)
The rest:
Burleson: 67 PA (.355 SLG%)
Gorman: 16 PA (.308 SLG%)
Baker: 9 PA (.286 SLG%)
Walker: 5 PA (.200 SLG%)
Pages: 2 PA (.000 SLG%)
Fwiw, the .355 SLG% by Burleson would rank 16th in baseball by teams.

The fact that it's basically average is very sad. 5 teams, including the Dodgers, have a sub .300 SLG% from the 5th spot.

That's why he's now batting 6th. Just curious, how does Arenado's SLG% rate as a cleanup hitter?

Singer should be tough.
he is
4-0
3.62 ERA
1.13 WHIP
27.1 innings
32 SO
Royals stupidly traded Singer.

Pitching has become so deep and velocities so consistently high that teams are front loading lineups to try and score what they can. Run producers who would have been 5 hitters a decade ago are now bumped up to 2 or 3.

means Willson is not !
Contreras is riding 10 game hitting streak!
Last 15 games he has a line of:
.293/.369/.448/.817
I think hitting 5th is the perfect spot for him.
Let's hope he continues his rebound tonight!

Burleson - 6th
Gorman - 7th
Surprised the Reds have not forfeited this game.
Saggese who can hit, field, bend over, dive for batted balls, run, hustle, etc is sent to Memphis while Gormat is lighting up the strikeout figures again. Logic is at best bewildering.
No doubt with Burleson and Gorman on base they will implement that cool bunt play just like yesterday. With that much athleticism and speed on basepaths it just is not fair to the Reds.

no....he's just doing his usual deflection, trying to put the blame on Arenado (I don't understand that one, he's been productive, Burleson hasn't.) or Contreras. He trolls so hard to get people to not look at the Golden Coral Garbage Dump in Burleson.
And the 5 Singles he had recently were seeing eye singles....hits nonetheless, but not what you want from your 5 hitter.

Well, let's be fair.
Gorman's K percentage is the lowest it's ever been and his BB percentage is way up. And he has no errors in 2025 with 85 Innings Played in the field.

Guru, Your Honor. Arenado makes enormous "big bucks". Burleson makes "peanuts", MLB salary-wise. Please try to comprehend the salary/production expectations.
