IF the Cardinals Bloom wanted to pursue Albert Pujols for Cardinals manager , that could impact on Marmol decision.
How ? Well, Pujols has indicated interest in being an MLB manager and he also has made a commitment to manage the Dominican Republic baseball team in the 2026 World Baseball Classic held in March 2026.
IF Bloom would want to take a shot a Pujols ,it would be for multiple years starting with 2027 season. That would mean Bloom would hold on to Marmol for his final year next year before having an opening. If Marmol is released this year, the next manager is certainly not going to accept a 1 year deal.
Don't know if that would factor in Bloom's decision but if he would want Pujols it wouldn't make sense to fire Oli this year and then hire another manager on a 3 year deal . Pujols would go to another MLB team for sure if Cards job didn't open up til 2029.
Just something I thought about

Please consider:
He is on contract through 2026 meaning BDW WILL BE PAYIMG HIM REGARDLESS.
There is the excuse 2025 is a reset. Not trying to win so can’t judge Oli fairly.
2026 is probably another losing season as Bloom rebuild starts.
What are best replacement options available going into 2026? Or 2027?
I think he should be gone but I’m not counting my chickens yet.

Zero percent chance he comes back.
The Marmot will be gone sometime this year.
Could you be more specific on your 'sometime this year '
Does that mean during the regular season ? After regular season but prior to end of October ? the 2025 calendar year as late as December ?
Asking Mel to be more specific in his "predictions" is wasted energy. He keeps it vague so he can always claim that he and he alone knew what the team would do.
He's a dishonest fraud.

I think a lot of you will be surprised/disappointed. Oli Marmol is EXACTLY the type of manager the Chaim Blooms like. If you’re looking for a decision maker who is going to fight back against the FO, please put down the pipe and step away from the mushrooms. Oli WILL be back in 2026.

I’ll bet you $ 20 that Marmol will NOT be managing the Cardinals at any point during the 2026 season.

That would almost be worth it just to see the posters who worship Bloom in advance come unglued.

Oli took a contract of $100K just for the
"Honor to be the manager of your St. Louis Cardinals, He was given a 7
year contract to give Oli every opportunity to be placed right along side
another Cardinal legend Whitey Herzog in wins in your great Cardinal
franchise history. Let's hear it for your future Red Jacket recipient,
Oli Marmol"

So you are saying to get maximum time , the 'sometime this year ' will be until Dec. 31st at 11:59 pm or would Jan. 1st count as Bloom was at a New Year's Eve party til the wee hours of Jan. 1st ... though it would be past this year !

Most likely 11:59:59.9999999999. The catch will be whatever the time zone is called way the heck out in the Pacific right before the date line changes.
But never fear, he has never shied away from moving the goalposts everytime he is wrong (which is often).
Fortunately for Mel, and all of us, Oli won't last until Dec. 31 in any time zone.

I made this offer on another thread, and will make it on this thread too. I’m going to a function in a few days where Oli is going to be the speaker. He’ll have a Q&A session after his talk. Are there any non embarrassing questions that anyone would like asked? About specific players maybe?

When the record is what it is, and the Cardinals are playing on the road and that is what it is- it seems like all of the questions are embarrassing.

where does he buy his suits?
why does he suck at managing?
are there whores on the road trips?
That's all I've got. Thanks in advance!

Ask him if he thinks hitting a slumping Willy at the two slot Contribute to his team leading 6 double plays.

He was quoted as saying some position players need to be treated like the pitchers are
in regard to the Memphis shuttle.
What would that look like when attempting to given players a
long runway?
Is it production based or where the player is in their process basis?

It's not WC's fault Nootbaar is on base over 40% of the time.
