Kessel has been with the team since trade deadline day in March. Got into a game or two near the end of the season. He’s very likely an option before Schueneman. Schueneman and the other two are just here as black aces. But I suppose it’s possible he does well enough in practice to move himself ahead of Kessel if they ever had to go that deep into their well of d-men. He has 30 something games of NHL experience and was by far Springfield’s #1 d-man all season (other than when Tucker and Kessel bounced up and down). He’s solid.

Schueneman has a little less NHL grounding as Kessel but is probably closer to his full man strength than Kessel is. I feel like Schueneman plays a safer game? And so as an emergency insert for 8-10 minutes which is what it would probably be, that was my logic for thinking S before K (S is hard to type the full name repeatedly)

Just gettign these guys some practice reps so that if a couple injuries happened next game, theyd already ha e practices with the team and be ready to step in rather than stelping off plane with no practices with the team

At times it looked unsafe for Suter to be on the ice. He was targeted and hit hard. 2 massive hits early on.
Probably for his own good that they took him out. He was destroyed.

I hope Alexandrov earns a spot. Hes been a good soldier. Sends a good message to all players in the system. Perseverance pays off. You will be rewarded if you play right and produce. Hes done everything asked of him. Developed into a good 2 way player with some upside. Id be fine with him over Joseph. (kind of like Texier. )

Kind of interesting.

Schueneman with more pro experience at 28 years old but Kessel with the greater nhl time.

Also the L/R issue.

Yes. Kessel has been with the team for awhile and never went down

Blues website lists Kessel as on the active roster so I believe he's already with us. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Hes been practicing with the team and listed in the pregane healthy scratches. Hes here
