Well to your second point I'm with you on the importance of goal tending.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025 16:56 pm The closer we get to tomorrow, I'm convinced a couple things has to happen. The Blues obviously have to win 1 on the road. And 2 we either need to win one where Binner doesn't have a good night, or we win one with a goalie battle. Binner currently at a .907. That's at least how I feel.
As much as i love that SP JB has given up just 6 goals in 4 games and he probably would like to have 1 of those back but I can't even tell you which one.
But he might be due for a "bad game" he did that in '19 a number of times......and you are right if the team can give him cover with a win on that it would be tremendous.
Side note.....these 72 hour gaps between games are great on one hand (thanks for game 4 win) and just really horrible on the other hand and I'm still wringing both of them.

I was listening to 101 while making dinner last night and Jamie Rivers made an observation that I know we all know, but apparently Winnipeg doesn't: don't let Binnington handle the puck on dump-in's. I'm not a huge fan of Rivers, but he noted they haven't changed how the enter the zone and keep letting Binner handle the puck which often times leads to a quick exit back out of the zone due to a strong pass by 50. In so many ways he's almost like having another defenseman back there.dhsux wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025 17:24 pmWell to your second point I'm with you on the importance of goal tending.callitwhatyouwant wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025 16:56 pm The closer we get to tomorrow, I'm convinced a couple things has to happen. And only so many goalies who can do that with confidence and positive results.TBone wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025 17:55 pmI was listening to 101 while making dinner last night and Jamie Rivers made an observation that I know we all know, but apparently Winnipeg doesn't: don't let Binnington handle the puck on dump-in's. Winnipeg in the first couple games were clearly skating strait to the boards when binner handled the puck so he couldn't outlet up the side. He started turning it up the middle which he doesn't normally do. So now he broke their forecheck a different way. I think think you have to stop hard dumping, but it's not realy like you can change that that easily. It's what every team does. And there are only about 5 goalies who really handle that puck well.dhsux wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025 18:24 pmAnd only so many goalies who can do that with confidence and positive results.TBone wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025 17:55 pmI was listening to 101 while making dinner last night and Jamie Rivers made an observation that I know we all know, but apparently Winnipeg doesn't: don't let Binnington handle the puck on dump-in's. But to your previous point. When the Blues made their run the last time, there was a game or 2 a series where the Blues got shelled. We have to expect that to happen at some point in this series. The Blues could win tho too if he we go on a high scoring game. I think we have to win 1 close even if its ugly close.
