Brewers aren't any good either, Cards play very well (8-4) at Busch.
Brewers run. What the plan to defend the stolen double.
Very true...This is why they do well
Not sure Cards have an answer to stop them if they get on base
Good point. Let’s see per game they get seven hits and three walks. That’s ten base runners. Seven steal. That leaves 7 runners in scoring position. Assume they get just two hits, that’s two runs in just small ball.

Does not account for doubles or homeruns.

Scrubbies (#1 w/40 SB's) too, the C. Counsell DNA all over both teams and it's "RUN"!

I have noticed Oli is finally catching on, Birds' have been running more lately.

Then to counter, we must reduce the men on base. Work the hitters tirelessly, and zero walks. That’s is the only way to combat it. Holding runs and throwing them out are lesser options.

Wow, I agree with Scouty on something. I feed the need to take a shower! ;-)
I think they offer a pill and a vaccination to take care of that...

Starting pitchers have been good lately, it's the RP's who we have to worry about letting the Brewers get on base!

Pages has a good 40% caught stealing rate (4th best tie in MLB) and a +1 Catcher's CS Above average (4th best tie in MLB)!

He's not easy to run on!

Pozo a 25% rate, 0 Catcher's CS Above average.

https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderbo ... r-throwing

That said we all know the majority of bases are stolen off the pitcher so they'll have to do a good job holding them close.

I only trust Argo to steal. Most suck at it

Yea no high flyers other than VSII.

Noots a career 26/33 so he could run more.

Winn (13/19 career) isn't good at it, Walker (10/16 career) or Donny (10/15 career) either.

Reference playoffs you’re correct. Two teams starting 10-15 have won division, and three have won wild card, since the beginning of the WC era. Five teams, 30 years.

We’d make the sixth team. Yes we need a win.

Congrats ! I may have missed it in another post but think you may be the FIRST poster this year to state the 'must win ' game.
after game 25 with only 137 left . (apologies if I missed someone else ). The 'must win' 1st prize is a trip to Vegas ! Enjoy

To win the trip , they must win.
Note : the number of nights there is the runs scored by Cards in victory.
