No gripe from me!riff raff wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 15:16 pmNot me, I would take Saggese over him every day of the week and twice on Sundays no matter who's pitchingCusecards wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 15:08 pmI get the frustration.riff raff wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 15:05 pmI would have sent down Burleson just to keep Oli from playing himCusecards wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 15:00 pm Keeping Saggese clearly the right call. Then it probably came down to Siani or Baker?
I like Siani for his defense/base running/bunting but his bat was awful.
He’ll be ready at Memphis if an OF goes down.
Scott will play every day.
Noot can play one game per week in CF if needed.
Actually .......if Siani wants to blame anyone for his demotion it should be Walker!
His improvement on defense made the need for late inning defense unnecessary.
I could handle Burleson in the lineup vs RH pitching but not batting 5th.
Winn in the lineup, no word on who got sent down.

Fifteen seconds of research is just too much to ask.An Old Friend wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 15:12 pm I like how Shady surmised that there was "no word on who got sent down" because he didn't actually look.
I would have sent Burleson down, as well. Oli is fixated on the idea that he is good at baseball. Siani is at least useful with a glove and can pinch run.

Burleson has been burutal. His statcast should be enough to send him downMort Gage wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 15:18 pmFifteen seconds of research is just too much to ask.An Old Friend wrote: ↑22 Apr 2025 15:12 pm I like how Shady surmised that there was "no word on who got sent down" because he didn't actually look.

Some you need to come to the realistic conclusion that you have absolutely no influence on what the Cardinals actually do. None. Neither do I. By the way, I discovered the lineup very early. And Googled to find out who got sent down. To no avail. I posted some tidbits about lineup anyway without being able to give the Siani news.

Should have put Donovan on the IL.
Guess is they will be doing that sooner rather than later.
I would look to deal him ASAP. His current injury could be considered a chronic condition and it does not bode well mid to long term absent surgery. No idea how effective that surgery might be.

If Donovan is on the shelf for an extended period of time, Saggese becomes even more crucial to the Cardinals remaining competitive this season.Dazepster wrote: ↑23 Apr 2025 08:14 am Should have put Donovan on the IL.
