Re: Munoz down, Svanson up
This might be a temporary move. Munoz pitched 2 nights in a row. He could be sore.

Maybe he's next on the list.
Looks like he’s not on the 40 man which could be the reason?
So I really appreciate the info some post here on the minors!
Don’t tell him that enough!
Re: Munoz down, Svanson up
middle guys are being overused already and needed a fresher arm. starters have been pleasant surprise and they are competitive as a team.
Re: Munoz down, Svanson up
So far the only starter surprise really has been Libby. But he’s also gotten better peripherally every year since he’s been in the MLB, so I thought he might be a breakout candidate this year.
But other than that, Gray has pitched like he has in the past, Fedde is not much different than last year, Pallante was a good starter last year and has been the same this year, and Mikolas still sucks.

Re: Munoz down, Svanson up
Svanson looks like he is more of a ground ball pitcher. 1.83 GO/AO ratio in his MiLB career. He Ks a decent amount, but his walks are a little concerning.
He had a 2.69 ERA in AA Springfield last season, but he played solely in relief, so ERA can be deceiving. His opponent BA/WHIP were 0.276/1.46. And his 59 Ks in 63.2 innings is merely OK. He didn't have a good ST, but that was only 3 innings and not very insightful.
Otherwise, he was fantastic in the lower levels in 2023 and he been good in AAA in his 5.2 innings. Although, his 1.24 WHIP is not quite outstanding.
He's a prospect! Not sure what to expect yet, but exciting to see!

pr=edro martinez was righthanded and one of the handful of best starting pitchers ever so.....noMort Gage wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 19:52 pmI'll be the first to admit I don't have the acumen of a certain Red Sox scout. But I think Roddery Muñoz could be like a right handed Pedro Martinez. But larger and harder throwing, of course.

Svanson did fine in his debut outing. Showed very good velocity and his command was very good considering the debut butterflies that he must have had plus his parents & fiance in the stands watching. Nice job !
Keith Hernandez , Mets analyst, was very complimentary to Svanson on his peppering the strike zone early .

Duce has been my "go to" source for what's going on down below that I admittedly don't spend much time on.Cusecards wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 20:24 pmHe is!scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 19:59 pmYep. Looks like in the near future that we may see a rotating shuttle with Memphis?
Fingers crossed with Svanson.
I thought Munoz showed decent stuff but a lack of command which I guess has been his career issue?
Roycroft??? I always try to think positive but his mechanics are all over the map!
Slinging the ball and falling off the mound.
I’m no pitching coach but no wonder he can’t consistently throw strikes.

Re: Munoz down, Svanson up
You can tell he really does his homework, he should get paid for the hard work he does on the kids but I suspect he does it because he truly loves minor league baseball.Cusecards wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 09:24 amI feel like he’s taken for granted.rockondlouie wrote: ↑18 Apr 2025 08:54 amDuce has been my "go to" source for what's going on down below that I admittedly don't spend much time on.Cusecards wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 20:24 pmHe is!scoutyjones2 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 19:59 pmYep. Didn't they purposefully do that knowing that he has going to be sent down?hugeCardfan wrote: ↑16 Apr 2025 20:19 pm This might be a temporary move. Munoz pitched 2 nights in a row. He could be sore.
