Blues need to win this game. I don’t want to see them need to win the last two games of the year.

It was sort of funny, actually, "what loss would Blues fans accept?"

"Well, I suppose if they set a franchise record winning streak to make a stirring playoff run reminiscent of 2009, then if they go on the road against the very toughest team in the league and play a strong 60 min where they could win, but honorably lose, and still look extremely likely to make the playoffs, then I'd be ok with a loss & would have nothing negative to say." :D
I didnt see the better play. Winnipeg is a team that gets part if their advantages from superior goaltending and we didnt even come close to testing helly. We generating an embarrassingly low 15 shots for the game. We played fine defensively but for being among the best offensive teams since 4 nations, we didnt generate any offensive pressure
Winnepeg is the best defensive team in the NHL Im sure they were also a bit more motivated to end the Blues streak. Missing Holloway and Parayko for that matter hurts but decent game all in all. Blues definitely need a win tonight, even a point would be great

I believe in what Yogi Berra used to say;” it ain’t over til it’s over” and they applies in us not secured for a playoff spot . I’ll worry til we win 2 of the 3 games. As for the Winnipeg game I made observations on another thread that Harry York commented on (thank you, Harry) but worth repeating re: the failure at the Jets game . BTW-
Oilers were shut out 2 games ago and scored 2 the next game so
There is great hope we overcome the Holloway “panic” and play better offensively. This is a beatable Oilers team so no excuses!!
Re: Jets;
I swear; The Jets put two players in front of the net, and we kept shooting to them over & over again (watch replays of the game!)instead of changing the strategy… like shooting behind the net and forcing the Jets players to move their rear ends away from the front of their net. . We didn’t disrupt anything. Just kept playing the puck to them instead of their goalie.
For a team that has been scoring four goals a game how did the coaching staff not get the players to change how they played after the first period getting outshot 8 to 3?

No excuse not to win. This is our easiest game left. Edmonton is a better team that utah and seattle when healthy but they arent right now.

This is a top heavy team missing its top heavy talent. Mcdavid, draisaitl, frederic, ekholm, stuart skinner and now ryan nugent hopkins are out. Thats their 2 stars as well as just being their top 3 centers and top defenseman, one of their top wingers, and their dtarting goalie(although the goalie aint much a loss)

This is a team of 3rd and 3rh liners tonight as wlel as ahl players. Also they are playing with only 19 players tonight due to cap restraints.

We better have a better powerplay too! Vs the jets all players shifted to the left and Hellebuyck followed to that side. Buchnevich was stationed to the open side for closely a minute with his stick off the ice ready for a pass. No one saw him and we never got a shot off .
We certainly miss Holloway’s mobility, and Maybe everyone is anticipating a Bolduc shot, and we have not seen a Snuggie snap shot on the PP yet, so I hope the players have been practicing.

In another side issue-Walker may be one hit away from a team record I believe

Would be awesome if Dvorsky is actually in the lineup. Get the kid some reps now that Springfield has clinched the playoffs.

The only "matter what" in that situation is if they reached 97pts with 31 or 32 RW, and Calgary won out to finish with 97pts with more RW, which they can still do, but events tonight could alter that possibility.

For example, if Calgary wins in OT tonight at Anaheim and Blues win in regulation:
In that case the magic number drops from 5 to exactly 2, setting up an even more helpful Friday game between CGY/MIN.

I’d hold Parayko until Utah. Let him be good and healed. No need to rush him.

Worst part about these 9 oclock TNT starts, is that they always get delayed when the other games even remotely close. Is this one going to get an on time start because it's TNT/TRU so it will start on one channel until the other game finishes? It would seem silly to have the Rags/Flyers game on when their game is next to meaningless for the playoffs and the Oil/Blues game has still big implications.

is this verified? If the Blues drop this one with those lines, that would be rough. The real bummer is not having hollywood for this game. I think he would love to stick it to the Oil who preferred Arvidsson over him. But these kind of games are scary, you feel like you are getting the B lineup, and in reality you are running your B lineup out there too. Gotta get them so you can put pressure. If you get the dub there's a potential to be popping champagne on the flight tonight. Gotta stay locked in.

Oilers cant call any more players up because of cap restraints and are having to play 1 man short actually. The only thing that can change is if ryan nugent hopkins actually plays but he was listed doubtful for tonight so they practiced those lines assuming he wouldnt play
